  1. Review titled Fast Efficient Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael Batty - Posted on 07 November 2022

I had an appendix cuff procedure following a colonoscopy which had identified a sessile serrated adenoma. The specialist team at the colorectal dept of the NGH performed keyhole surgery timely and efficiently allowing discharge within 24 hours of the operation. I found this a painless procedure and am impressed by the rapid recovery I am making. Well Done NHS!

My husband had a fall and needed to visit a and. e We had a four hour wait but know how everyone’s care mattered ,but it was no problem .When we finally got to see the doctor he was so caring and my husband who is a bit hard of hearing heard every word .He had every test going and he has just got to take pain killers and patience to let his body heal.we did not have to wait for blood results as the doctor phoned them to our home .Marvellous care from everyone who cared for us that day . Thankyou .

Angio day ward nurses are the best, angio ward so clean and so professionally managed, in contrast to Firth 2 that is more like a scene from Silence of the lambs,Attitudes make you feel so uncomfortable for going in there, but are made welcome when entering the Angio Day Ward

I was sent by my GP with aa suspected DVT. I could not have been cared for better. I was treated promptly and informed by caring staff what was happening throughout blood tests and a scan. I have nothing but the greatest praise for all staff. Thank you!

  7. Review titled Delayed MRI scan

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2022

Turned up for 14:20 appt. At 14:30 put gown on for MRI. 1 hour later still no scan. Told will be another 20 mins until scan that takes 1 hour to complete. Told staff have family waiting for me. They said that’s not their fault! No compassion and no urgency. Surely as this is an appt booked in advance… it shouldn’t be running this late?!

  8. Review titled Hadfield 4 ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Marie Hawkins - Posted on 03 October 2022

Our dad has been treated on this ward for approximately 9 weeks. Sadly today he passed away and I absolutely must say how much my family and I appreciate everything the staff did for my dad and my family. From the nurses to the cleaning staff, from the consultants to the care staff , you were all amazing. The care and compassion you showed was completely overwhelming right to the very end. I would stay for for nights and all day towards the end, never once was I made to feel anything but content at being with dad. If only we could say more, thank you just doesn't seem enough.

  9. Review titled futile survey

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Paul Warren - Posted on 07 October 2022

just been invited on phone to rate my experience yesterday on five point scale between very good and very poor. I just can't believe that aggregating rubbish like this creates anything meaningful in the sense of improving the service. It may create jobs, make someone feel satisfied or whatever, but improving a service must need something more textured, nuanced, qualitative In my case, two downside things related to wait, upside of good treatment and one don't know. 1: wait for 90 min royal hallamshire minor injuries, assessed and taxied to main a&e about 1 hour, where started nearly 4 hour wait for triage so 6-7 hours total before wound closure started- not too bad but becoming less than ideal, emotion says some weight could be given to hallamshire wait rather than starting clock again at northern general as for me its the total experience that matters 2: no obvious ideal fluid in a&e waiting room, had lost good couple of units blood, feeling shocky, would have been nice to have access to milk, orange juice or similar for fluid replacement and comfort. Machine with coke etc not working so left with coffee and water from toilet sink tap - undignified 3: wound sorted and stitched by really confidence inspiring nurse who manged to be both professional and friendly at (& over) end of shift when she must have been tiring 4: not sure - I was never really asked about how much blood lost, still pretty woozy and breathless today so expect quite a bit, I know value of doing blood count is debatable, so not sure if not considering this was right or corner cutting My point is, rating this as 3/5 or 4/5 or 5/5 really does nothing at all to address any of the issues raised in qualitative response
