  2. Review titled Reason of nhs failure

Rated 2 stars out of 5

After siting with my wife in majors for over 2 hours and not even had a blood test taken, it is my understanding that if the staff didn’t stand talking total and utter twonk to each other the system would run a load smoother, so far I have learnt what members of staff are going out for a drink on Thursday night also that another nurses boiler is on the blink so she has to tell every other member of staff. When I go to work I just go to work, sorry for ranting I just feel like the general experience of this hospital is pathetic every time I go and it’s only getting worse, strike or not!

  3. Review titled Poor communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Emma - Posted on 24 November 2022

I am over due a much needed procedure that I have every 4 months to manage my pain. Unfortunately due to a form going missing I am now in limbo. There is absolutely no way of getting a timely reply from this department nor from PALS. I am disgusted in the hospital I had previously held in high regard. This is the second department I have been forced to go to PALS over this year because the system is broken. I have already received one apology from the previous consultant but to be ignored again in another department and by PALS is not OK. I am living in constant pain and now the almost daily migraines are back, I give up. There is absolutely no wonder people resort to ending their pain permanently...who can live at the whim of a consultant? Thanks for nothing QMC, get your communication and accountability in order before it is too late for others.

I have just had a fall, broke my wrist and damaged my face. From the moment I went into A and E the staff were very caring and professional. The staff in the plaster room were so kind and at my follow up appointment in the treatment center the service was excellent. Thank you all.

  8. Review titled unprofessional

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My friends rushed me to A + E on November 30, 2022, after I had a fit in the club due to suspected spiking. However, due to the lack of needle marks and bruises and my not having had a drink in the club, this was quickly ruled out. Due to the 8-hour wait for an ambulance, I was driven to A + E by a lovely Uber driver. I was fitting the whole way there, and due to this, I was also experiencing extreme anxiety from being in a hospital bed on my own for the first time since leaving home for university. There were two nurses with awful bedside manner, laughing, telling me to "stop treating the hospital as my home," which was a comment made due to my asking my friend to join me, and also making comments that "I clearly just had too much to drink." Their behavior was extremely unprofessional and made me and my friend very uncomfortable. Just to clarify, I am not a massive drinker and will have one or two a night, and whether I have a drink or not, they have a responsibility and duty of care, which I feel was heavily neglected. I have a lot of respect for NHS staff, and there were other lovely people on that shift that night; however, if you're young and have experienced an accident on a night out, I would be hesitant about coming here.

  9. Review titled Poor

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I felt the ward was ran with no privacy or dignity to the patients. I understand that its a very busy place but to discuss private and personal information with all A and E is very difficult to accept at least be offered to speak privately in a room .which were clearly not being used at the time. My sister was taken to A and E as this was her second relapes on alcohol and was unable to work properly due to withdrawal and need a wheelchair to get down to A&E. She was forced to walk up and down the middle of a busy A&E department with very strong alcohol withdrawal symptoms ( very bad shakes struggling to walk sweating ) so we're is patient's dignity, privacy and care, is this the protocol you all too adhere ? This happened last night in A & E adults we were in A&E around about 13.30 pm till 11.30 pm.

Hi There, Thank you for your feedback I’m so sorry to hear that this is what your experience of our services was like and I understand how concerned you must be. Please be assured your comment will be sent directly to the matron as we take all feedback seriously, this is not the way we want you to feel. Your care is paramount to us and the fact that you felt confidentiality was missing during your visit was concerning. I’d like to take this opportunity to say I hope your sister is ok now and getting all of the support she needs in what must be a difficult time for you all.
