Review titled Productivity suggestion
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Tim - Posted on 23 September 2024
I brought my wife for a walk-in blood test this morning. We arrived well in advance of the 7:00 open. There were already three people there with scheduled appointments. At 7:05 my wife was told they are not doing walk-in's that day as they were short staffed. We were also told they do not know until the day (and yet they knew in advance there were no walk-in's at Basildon). I asked if, because they were very quiet, they could just fit my wife in. Clearly that caused some annoyance and the answer was no. May I suggest that if you open on time rather than walking from room to room and having a bit of a chat, you could fit at least three extra blood tests in. You could have cleared that waiting room by the time you got around to telling us you couldn't see us. Just a thought.

Review titled Great Experience Endoscopy Section Orsett Hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by MickParkins - Posted on 19 August 2024
Had to have a visit to the hospital arranged quickly tried to get Basildon but had to settle for Orsett.. Well I was shocked how good this section was. I was more than surprised with this little stand alone unit. Every member of staff gets 5 stars in my opinion for how they treated me and made me feel throughout this experience they made me feel at ease, explained what was happening and was treated brilliantly. thank you.

Review titled Appalling care
Rated 1 star out of 5

My sister went in to get an embedded piece of jewellery removed and I am shocked at the way not only my sister was spoken to but me as well. I myself have several piercings that I've never had any problems with and the nurse decided a lecture on piercings would be better than focusing on removing the jewellery. She offered no reassurance or pain relief and decided to rip it out, which we could have done at home rather than waiting 2 and a half hours for her to do. Overall, the nurse was incredibly rude and should not be allowed to work in care at all!

Review titled Excellent and Friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Connor - Posted on 27 May 2024
Went to MIU this morning with a broken finger. Was seen very quickly and was put at ease by the person that I saw. He was friendly and bubbly. We did joke about how I did it. Sent for an x-ray which was done within 15 minutes and seen again as soon as I got back. Thank you all for everything today!

Review titled Awful Patient Care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Melissa Brown - Posted on 17 April 2024
I am a nurse myself in an acute setting, trust me I know the pressures of primary care but my experience was nothing but appalling. I had an infected insect bite on my calf. It was clear as day; red, hot, swollen and discoloured. The woman I saw completely dismissed me, told me it’s not tracking but clearly has spread past the two rings I had already drawn. Our encounter lasted no more than 3 minutes, she didn’t even ask my past medical history until I left. Will not be returning as I feel the care is not even close to adequate or meets the ‘standard’ NMC code of practice.

Review titled Brilliant Treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Roger Clay - Posted on 15 March 2024
Visited Minor Injuries this morning, due to cuts and bruises to my face and head, after a fall. The nurse was absolutely brilliant and explained all the assessments to the trainee with her and to me. I was thoroughly checked, wounds cleaned and glued and discharged with full instructions. Thank you both so much and I would like to thank the trainee nurse for her very good treatment and wish her well in her career. Regards, Roger Clay.

Review titled Amazing service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen Turner - Posted on 04 January 2024
Every single one of the lovely ladies that treated my wound were absolutely amazing. Kind, gentle and with a great sense of respect, dignity and at times humour! It was a particularly pressurised time of the year but they never made me feel as if I should not have been there and thankfully they all were. My GP practice could not accommodate my wound packing and dressing on a daily basis but the minor injuries team did. Thank you so much!

Review titled Total waste of time
Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited today because I have hurt my foot, hoping to get it looked at and an Xray to rule out a fracture after4 hours waiting during which time only 5 patients were seen the X ray department closed, so I left unseen as staying would have been pointless, when I arrived at 2 pm I was told a 3 hour wait, 4 hours later there were still 8 people in front of me to be seen. There were also people there who had been waiting since 10.30 am to see a practitioner, I appreciate they were busy but for every patient seen it was 25 minutes or more before the next person was called in, at one point there were 5 members of staff in the same room with no patient in there this department is obviously not for for purpose.
