Review titled Extortionate waiting periods
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 February 2025
Waiting for my appointment for 30 minutes already. I know it doesn’t sound like a long time but having a busy lifestyle this is ridiculous! I should not have to be waiting this long! Anywhere else, like the opticians I would only be waiting for 15 minutes max, and they would have the courtesy to let you know there is a wait!

Review titled Great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lucy - Posted on 09 February 2025
I took my 89 year old mum to A&E after a fall. We would like to thank everyone in the department for their care and compassion. Although it was a long drawn out process, having to have X-rays and ct scan everything was efficiently done. Mum felt safe and comfortable. One hears so many negatives about the nhs but while we have staff who care and look after our loved ones as mum was I can’t praise it highly enough. Bet the staff can’t wait for their new department which will enhance the service further.

Review titled Very long wait
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs Karen Baker - Posted on 31 December 2024
My 87 mother was taken to a&ewith a suspected broken leg. She arrived and was eventually seen then sent to xray. Once back after another long weight she was told she had broken her ankle ,she then waited over 2 hours to get the plaster on then she was told to she need to see the consultant, after 2 hours she was told she could havegone home 2 hours earlier as she didnt need to see the consultant . She told them she was diabetic so they gave her a packet of 3 biscuits, no drink . I understand that hospitals are busy but they do have a duty of care. She finally got home at 1.30am after 13 hours in a&e,but a ridiculous time to discharge a old lady. Unfortunately we are 200 miles away so we couldn't help her.

Review titled Wonderful Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stuart Graham - Posted on 17 October 2024
I presented with suspect heart attack and was attended to in a respectful manner by all the staff. Whilst there not only were we treated with kindness we were offered food and drink free of charge. Cannot fault the treatment that I received nor the kindness offered to my wife. Would definitely recommend

by Susan Newton - Posted on 07 October 2024
I would like to thank everyone who cared for me on the endoscopy dept on Monday 30th September 2024 at Pilgrims Hospital during my colonoscopy. Everyone was so kind and caring. Everything happened so quickly from me finding out there was something wrong on the 13th September. I really do appreciate how quickly they got me in and sorted my problem staraight away. I have never ever had such good care in any other hospital all my life. So I rate this department excellent. And again I thank you all.

Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Kazza - Posted on 14 August 2024
Advised rest for a week and then walk on a metatarsal brake not offered crutches to use, said they would ring the next day to let me know my blood result and book me in the fracture clinic…. No call 2 days later rang hospital to be told I was discharged!! I rang my private doctor to be told I should rest up for 4 weeks no pressure on foot keep elevated, to wear a surgical stocking, never got one, keep in boot all times and on crutches for 4 weeks none of this was relaid to me never see a doctor they said that I should have an appointment to go back to have a X-ray to check it’s healed nothing has been mentioned from pilgrim, they have no air conditioning to keep the staff and patients clean and cool air totally awful experience would travel miles to get good service shocking!!

Review titled Excellent care in A & E Resus unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lyn - Posted on 20 August 2024
I really want to give high praise to the Ambulance paramedics, the incredible Drs in the Resus unit and the nursing staff. Following a car accident yes I was there 12 hours but they never left me isolated, we knew what was going on, they attended to pain immediately, allowed my husband and son to be there. I was dreading the thought of A&E with previous experiences but not at this hospital. Thank you for taking such good care. It’s wonderful to see so many different cultures having one aim and that was to look after me with top notch care. Step down was just awful, very small but the one nurse who helped us to the car definitely went the extra mile. Thank you.
