  1. Review titled Wow! Fast, efficient, friendly, and spot on with diagnosis.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Graham Robert Wilshaw - Posted on 14 June 2023

My optician admitted he had not seen anything like my eye trouble before, and referred me to pinderfields eye clinic, I received a call the next morning, so my emergency appointment took less than 24 hours! The diagnosis was rock solid, and now 12 hours later, the prescription is working, already allowing me to write this review. I am in much less pain, God Bless our NHS.

Been waiting for more than 9 hours for a doctor to come and see me even though I came in an ambulance. Not even been given medication or anything to ease the pain. Due to condition am on the wet trolley for 8 hours they can't even change me.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and I am so sorry to read of your experience. We have seen a much higher than normal level of attendance in our Emergency Departments. Unfortunately, this means that our patients are waiting much longer than we would like to be seen and fully acknowledge how this does not make for positive patient experience. It is disappointing to read that you were left on a wet trolley for a considerable amount of time and I have shared your feedback with the team so that they can understand what a negative impact this has had on you. Thank you again and I wish you a speedy recovery. Kind regards Clare Blackburn (Head of Patient Experience)

: 7 yrs after my first diagnosis I had a return visit, and was delighted to see the consultant I’d previously seen was still there. He’s one of natures gentlemen but also extremely professional.I felt completely at ease, everything was explained perfectly and everyone was so kind.. The nurses are as always amazing.. Thankfully this time my diagnosis was good so me and my family can relax and get on with our lives.. Please don’t hesitate to contact this wonderful unit if you have any worries.. Thank you all for your help and support

  4. Review titled Left hand/ right hand

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Brought in via ambulance with possible heart attack, the A&E did everything I could ask of them and finally took me to a assesment ward that night, I then spent 3 full days on that ward and had another attack it was only on the third day that someone from the coronary ward came to see me, and said they had not been informed of me being brought in, So on Friday morning I am now on the cardio ward where I am then informed that no one is available to give me an angioplasty untill next Tuesday as they are going on holiday. I am in a small room by myself with no radio or TV wired to a machine so I can't get about at all looking at a wall for what will be at least 4 days because it's a bank holiday. So from having the first attack till first proper investigation 8 days, If your going to have a heart attack ensure your in Leeds centre where they seem to put patient care a little higher.

  5. Review titled Incompetence results in 9 week setback

    by Jodie82 - Posted on 27 April 2023

After waiting over 10 weeks to see the gynecology consultant to discuss surgery after numerous tests the day of my appointment I had a bad flare up. I called the hospital on the morning of my appointment at 10:00am - my appointment was at 14:10 and asked if the consultant could call me instead of me attending as I was so ill with suspected endometriosis (the nature of the condition I am needing surgery for). The lady I spoke to said she would call me back in half hour but if I didn't hear from her that a phone call would be fine. I explained if there is no way the appointment could be done via phone that I would get help getting to the hospital/ dose up on painkillers etc. She assured me that if it wasn't possible she'd call me back and that if I didn't hear back to expect a call at the scheduled time. At 13:50 the lady called me back to say they forgot to call me back and I needed to attend in person. I live half hour drive away. They didn't have to decency to fit me in the following day or asap and as a consequence of the incompetence I am now on a potential 8-12 week waiting list to see the consultat. Then it'll be another long waiting list for surgery. All the while the government will have to pay me full statutory sick pay allowence.
