  1. Review titled poor practise

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alison Ostacchini - Posted on 16 December 2024

I opted to change my consultant following repeated cancellation's of my appointments and poor care. The hospital obliged, I was referred to a new consultant. Considering my health condition is impacting my daily life, regularly experiencing pain that prevents me from conducting daily activities, I would expect a level of care that aims to improve. Having waited nearly a year for a consultancy, one was scheduled for 23.12.2024. I received notice of a cancellation and a new appointment on 12.05.2025. Switching consultants has not provided any solution to the lack of care provided, I continue to have phone consultations cancelled and pushed back a further 6 months, a lack of testing and no suggested recommendations to better my health problems from consultants. But, is this a surprise considering the majority of my appointments are cancelled?

Had day surgery for breast lumpectomy and an unexpected overnight stay on a ward …from start to finish the care, kindness and overall experience received was exceptional , all doctors, nurses, staff etc were amazing. So thank you to all concerned for making, what started out as a very daunting experience ,as comfortable as possible.

We recently attended PAH maternity unit for the birth of our daughter (C section). We had a brilliant experience from start to finish. All the staff we met were very helpful and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to assist us in this new experience for us.

  5. Review titled Completely clueless

Rated 1 star out of 5

Meant to have a surgery, was told the wait time was 4 weeks. Surgery got cancelled because the surgeon called in sick. Rather them pass my case onto another surgeon or look at other sites, they just cancel the appointment and can’t confirm when the next one would be. Completely clueless, booking team for surgery have no clue what their doing. Can’t get hold of them either, the line either rings out or goes straight to voicemail. When it gets to voicemail it says “ this voicemail is not monitored” so there’s literally no form of contact. Absolutely Ludacris

  6. Review titled difficult to book and long waiting time at first appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 October 2024

Took 13 months to get an eye appointment (Sept 2023 to October 2024) from date of eye check up (marks and Spencer) via Gen Prac to hospital Called hospital numerous times, no letter from them, no returned calls, always engaged or "unmonitored" voicemails left. On arrival - saw first nurse <10 minutes after appointment time - had photos taken <15 minutes later, told to wait for doctor - waited 2.5 hours, no doctor - saw reception, told no doctor to see that day Total 2hrs 45minutes for preliminary eye appointment.

  7. Review titled Fracture clinic

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Lisa - Posted on 04 October 2024

Can’t believe 2 patients left and the X-ray me being one, guy downs tools and says I’m going home at 4,35, my app was 3.45 and fue to issues with a previous patient we had to suffer not having X-rays, baring in mind my husband and I finished work early to make the appointment I’m absolutely disgusted, two patients to go would have taken him another 10 mins at the most to sort absolute jobs worth, and for the staff to then want to send us to A&E after us waiting an hour as it was and for A&E to say the can’t say how long we heed to wait, absolutely disgusting, you finish your work for the day that’s booked in then go home not leave patients just hanging! Fracture clinic, please sort your X-ray staff out as absolutely disgusting behaviour and know it wasn’t your fault x

  8. Review titled A&E is unclean and unkempt.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I spent 10 hours in the a&e department a few days ago. Lengthly service as usual. Not once did I see a cleaner. Over 100 people using the same 2 toilets in the department. 36 hours after being in a&e, I’m very unwell with a tummy bug. If the unit was clean and hygienic, I doubt this would happen.

  9. Review titled Disgusting Food

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Julie Hurst - Posted on 13 September 2024

It’s bad enough being on a Liquid diet, try only having the use of one hand and trying to open the sugar, salt sachets, unscrew lids etc. and after going to all that trouble being faced with a tray straight out of Oliver Twist. What can only be described as “inedible slop” identifying as “porridge”, some concoction of two fruits which is certainly baby food and custard. All in teeny tiny servings that would leave a baby wanting more. A patient needs sustenance to recover. So tell me how in 2024 the menu hasn’t improved to a point where you receive a healthy, hot, adult portioned meal! And when you receive something you simply can’t eat, you are told “too bad, there’s nothing else”, so you go hungry till breakfast time. The Public Hospital system is completely inadequate and must be overhauled. Seriously, you can’t even get Ice Chips anymore. Inmates are looked after better than patients, and it is a disgrace! What Same Sex Accomodation?? There was three woman and a man in my room.
