  1. Review titled Lengthy waits

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2024

The wait was poor, got pre assessment and bloods done quickly but still waited 9 plus hours to get the chest x-ray they to be placed back in the waiting room. Was told 3 people in front of me but 5 people went in front off me 2 had only been in the hospital less than 2hours. I not eaten and I not slept all night. Absolutely joke So not only the long wait 3/4 people who came in after me got seen to before

  2. Review titled Appalling waiting times children’s A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

My 3 year old was taken in by ambulance in the early morning and was not seen for 5 hours! There is no level of service and zero urgency amongst the staff. No toys for the kids, no vending machines for food or drink. This A&E is not fit for purpose. An absolute disgrace.

  3. Review titled Selfish

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michael - Posted on 21 September 2024

Certain staff were only concerned with the amount of patients they had to deal with were rude and abrupt. When I spoke of the reason I was here they just repeated “what bloods..” over and over after I had showed them the blood report. It should not be up to the patient to interpret test results. Also the referral letter I was sent with was not even read until I insisted. Again this should not be for the patient to have to guide staff to important information. There mood improved however once the patients stopped being admitted and they had time to chat with their colleagues. My review reflects the action of an individual as all other staff were polite and professional.

Upon ringing the above dept. today, I had the usual long wait to get through. I managed to give my hospital number then due to my mobile signal, I got cut off. I was so grateful when the operator called me back!! Fr*nces*a was super professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you so much.

  5. Review titled Cancellations ..plural

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2024

I have had numerous follow up appointments cancelled and rearranged including two appointments on the actual day with less than an hours notice, the appointment is for a first follow up appointment for a procedure I had carried out two years ago! ..and to add insult to injury, I called the telephone number given to rearrange and after holding for over 15 minutes both calls were cut off, an extremely unsatisfactory service!

  7. Review titled Positive experience in Accident and Emergency

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Pamela Smith - Posted on 22 July 2024

Following a fall in the street and injuring my hand I got a taxi to Accident and emergency. I was admitted quickly and after a slight wait was xrayed and then sent to see a nurse practitioner. All the staff were lovely and the process was very smooth. Thanks to all

  8. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lyndsey - Posted on 22 May 2024

I recently visited with my young child who has special needs. I was very worried how she would cope with the xrays and being examined, but I need not have all the staff were so incredible and I feel like the staff really done amazing at not only helping my daughters broken wrist, but making the experience as speedy and pleasant as possible. We were in and out within 2.5 hours which I think is amazing. I cant name names here but the childrens a&e, minor injuries and fractures were just wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of their care and professionalism with my daughter and am extremely grateful. As a side note would be amazing for some more disabled parking spaces, parking was much more traumatic than the hospital visit. Thanks again wonderful staff members.

  9. Review titled Children's a&e poor experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 June 2024

We attended children's a&e and staff were helpful, efficient and organised. We found the individual who cared for our child to be more adequate than the doctor we waited several hours to see. Unfortunately, the doctor had a bad attitude and was condesending, rude and did not even know why our child was there. The doctor accused my toddler of 'not liking doctors' because he was crying. He had been very unwell all day, exhausted and was very unhappy. Anyone with children or just common sense will know that even a couple hours waiting in a confined space is a long time for a sick toddler. We also had our infant with us. However, the doctor was unhappy, and informed me that its only been a few hours and normally she make children wait 8 hours before she agrees to see them in a&e. This is really concerning, appalling and embrassing for the NHS. It is also an inappropriate comment to make to a parent of a patient. The doctor also rolled her eyes often and spoke in a sarcastic tone of voice. We had concerns that a separate issue may have been causing our sons illness, for which the doctor quite rudely said to go to the gp. After 2 minutes, the doctor left. We felt very let down and the doctor let down the staff who had done a great job. The department, and the NHS generally is full of posters that we must respect the staff, but the staff often use that to their advantage to treat patients poorly.

  10. Review titled So kind so competent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jo Thompson - Posted on 17 April 2024

I wanted to say thank you to the team I was treated by at the colposcopy clinic today. They made a horrid procedure bearable. They were all so kind and so reassuring. They are also clearly efficient as I went in before my appointment time! Thank you so much.
