  1. Review titled Caring and understanding

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 19 July 2024

I am a carer and brought someone in for Day surgery who is very anxious around hospitals and health appointments the staff were helpful and understanding and made what was an awful day for the personal as comfortable as they possibly could by listening to us as carers on how best to support him through the process and they were very patient throughout we were especially pleased with the anaesthetists and after care in recovery where we were taken so we would be there when the person came around. The only downside to the whole experience was the initial waiting period which was 2 &1/2 hours which is always difficult to keep someone busy for when they are anxious and have low tolerance to waiting it would have been better to keep the person in their car until they doctors were ready but this was not an option. overall the staff were great it's just a shame we couldn't mention all of the staff but I would like to think they know the have done something positive for someone that is very vulnerable and we care very much for. Thank you x

  2. Review titled Excellent hearing aid service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Suella - Posted on 11 July 2024

After my husband having a badly fitting aid, causing problems, an excellent young lady, took it away and after several fittings, altered it to fix exactly. As he is profoundly deaf and has hearing only in one ear, it was such a relief to get it sorted.

  3. Review titled Great reception staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Jason Hogben - Posted on 14 June 2024

I took my elderly father to QA today and had to sort out the disabled parking with a blue badge for my father. I found my way to the reception and had a chat to Josh on the desk who was fantastic and a great help as it was the first time we had used the blue badge. He explained everything and was so so helpful and kind. Thank you Josh

  4. Review titled Assessment ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

A great service from the time I walked in until I left. The staff were brilliant, not just going about their day to day duties but also going above and beyond with extras. A very calm and relaxing experience.

  5. Review titled Very Satisfied

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy - Posted on 11 June 2024

I have recently had two colonoscopies on 22nd May and 03 June 2024 and on both occasions the staff have been first class. The first colonoscopy was routine but they found a large polyp which necessitated a second procedure to remove it. I received first class service on both occasions from the reception team and particularly the team conducting each proceedure. As part of a trial, the people running the trial always did what they said they would do which is a refreshing factor these days. Doctors and nurses were very good and I felt very comfotable in what is a rather challenging proceedure for the patient. Given the publicity that surrounds the NHS these days, which is ofen negative, the people in the Endoscopy unit deserve a big pat on the back. Well done one and all.

  6. Review titled Support during a challenging week

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Emily - Posted on 13 June 2024

A huge thank-you to the whole team for the care I have received over the past week, which has been very challenging for me. Support when feeling very low was always there. Special thanks to the Equans team supporting d7 East - always kind, cheery and person-centred.

  7. Review titled Great team

by Tom Dunaway - Posted on 12 June 2024

I visited ED and was greeted with the expected crowded reception and lack of spare seats in the waiting room. I checked in and waited in the foyer until triage about an hour later. After two hours we were told that the wait was likely to be 6 to 8 hours but full explanation that any pain relief of advice was available. Most people stayed with a few moans. I watched a few genuine emergencies with parents carrying sick or injured children and a stream of ambulance arrivals. Among these were a steady flow of mental health related issues, elderly confused people, language barriers, police escorted patients and more than a few with alcohol and substance abuse of all ages and gender. In every single case the reception staff, nurses, doctors, security, ambulance staff and any hospital employees that I witnessed reacted positively and treated everyone with the same level of respect and calm. Despite being bombarded with with pressure, some unreasonable and unacceptable requests and behaviour, levels of aggression and lots of emotion they never failed, in my opinion, to maintain their professionalism and to create a calm environment. Although I had to wait my turn I tried to imagine spending time in their shoes and not sure I could have behaved as well in the same circumstances. With lack of funding, lack of medical staff, increase in visitors and overloading with mental health and alcohol and substance abuse I think they all deserve medals. I was treated as quickly as the system would allow and everyone involved in my treatment was amazing and efficient. Even if a few less people ended up there for overindulging or other self inflicted reasons the situation would start to improve. The broken situation is not the fault of the staff that you see in front of you or behind the doors of this typical hospital emergency department and they deserve the same respect in return. For whatever personal reason they chose to face this situation on every shift, they do go in to do their absolute best. If it sometimes look like they are feeling this pressure it is no surprise. Please pass on my thanks and urge them to keep going as without them we would all be in trouble. They are angels x

  9. Review titled Great Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2024

My husband was treated as a day patient at the Radiology Day Case Unit at QA. The service was fantastic from the calls before admission the tests on the day before admission the advice and guidance given was of a high level. On the day of treatment all the staff were helpful knowledgeable and kind. The doctor who treated my husband was second to none he explained everything in plain English and came to see him the next day before discharge. This department is a shining example of all that is good in the NHS. Thank you all so much for your care and compassion
