  3. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ann McCulloch - Posted on 24 May 2024

I am under the care of the vasculitis team at the QE and cannot fault the care I receive. The staff show me care and compassion going out of their way to keep me well informed and to explain everything thoroughly to me. The team are welcoming, understanding, friendly, kind, helpful and approachable. My consultant in particular is incredibly knowlegable about my condition and always takes the time to answer any questions providing full and clear answers. I have full confidence in him and the rest of the team. They go above and beyond their duties in order to provide the best possible care showing dedication at all times to their profession and their patients. Heartfelt thanks go to them all.

  4. Review titled Nightmare at QE Hospital in A&E

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Amid - Posted on 03 May 2024

Subject: Complaint Regarding Long Wait Time in A&E Dear QE Hospital Birmingham Management, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the excessive wait time I experienced in the Accident & Emergency department on 2nd May 2024. I arrived at 5.30pm and waited for over 9 hours and still I am waiting . The extended wait time was not only frustrating but also concerning, as I was in need of urgent medical assistance. I understand that A&E departments can be busy, but waiting over 9 hours is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the efficiency and effectiveness of your services. I hope that you will investigate this matter promptly and take steps to ensure that such long wait times do not occur in the future. Patients in need of urgent medical care should not have to endure such lengthy delays. Sincerely, Syed

  5. Review titled PALS Unfriendly

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2024

I can compliment the Nurses, Doctors and Surgeons when I was recently there . However the team at PALS are unfriendly and not helpful. at all. Unfortunately this gives the hospital a bad reputation when the department that is meant to help patients and visitors are non approachable. Again top marks to the doctor's, surgeons and nurses though.

I was at the department visiting with my elderly parents and arrived for a 13:00 appointment - Still sat here as i write at 17:25 waiting to be seen, requested an explanation and the doctor said i either wait another hour or to rebook !!!! Great customer service , and an example of the dire straights the NHS is in , its not underfunded , its inefficient ... there is a big difference !

  8. Review titled Nightmare

Rated 1 star out of 5

I came into qe a&e between 2-3pm. After a while I was triaged and told to wait in the waiting area. After another long wait I was called in again for bloods and ecg. The 2 nurses who triaged me were not very nice or kind just dome their jobs! I was then told to go back to the waiting room again, which by this time was pretty full. At 11pm a doctor came and told me I was staying but there were no beds. I had to sit in the waiting area all night with no warning this may be the case! A nurse came to me to do another ecg and was so rough with me, she then got angry when she realised I'd already had an ecg done previously to which I explained my heart rate was high. She told me the ecg should have been done at 12 it was now 2am! In the morning I can say only one nurse actually bothered with me and looked after me. She went above & beyond. I had the worst a&e experience of my life. I was finally discharged 24hrs later and at 5pm I received a phone call to ask where I was as a bed was available to me, but I'd already been discharged.

  9. Review titled Caring and excellent service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 April 2024

I came for a colonoscopy this afternoon and whilst initially feeling nervous, I can’t praise the team enough for their reassurance and professional manner. The nurse who initially prepared me for the procedure answered any questions I had. I appreciated having my own private area/room while I waited to go in. The team who carried out the procedure were really caring and friendly; I felt I was in god hands. Because I had sedation, I had to wait in recovery until I was ready to go home. Again, the staff were extremely friendly whilst they got some food and drinks. I expected to have to wait a long time however it was all over in under an hour. Thank you to the team for making quite an embarrassing and invasive procedure, dare I say… an almost pleasurable experience.
