  1. Review titled The best i could of asked for

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chloe Thornton - Posted on 05 March 2025

In December 2024 I unfortunately lost my daughter who was stillborn. The staff have been nothing short of amazing kind and compassionate. I was made to feel welcome and was always kept informed about all my care and treatment. The bereavement midwife I had is an angel in disguise and she's been an absolute rock to me in my grieving process. I couldn't fault a single thing or single staff member . If every nurse or midwife was like her no women would ever feel alone . I can't express my gratitude enough and will forever remember the kindness and love shown to me .

Dear Ms Thornton, Thank you so much for passing on this incredible piece of feedback. I can not even begin to imagine what you have been through and I have to say to take the time to write in praising our staff during what must have been such a traumatic experience shows just what incredible strength you must have. I will pass on your lovely comments with the department who I'm sure will love to hear what you have written. I know there is nothing in words that can be said to change what has happened, me and my wife also lost our first born a few years ago so to a degree I have a level of understanding, but I hope you'll take some comfort in the support and kindness you received from our staff. 2. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Booth - Posted on 13 March 2025

My husband was blue lighted by ambulance and admitted to A&E at 1.38 am Sunday 9th March. The service he received from all concerned, Service 111, the two ambulance attendees and the staff at QEQM was first class. We saw the very best of the NHS. Thankyou.

  3. Review titled CCU - First Class - 5 Stars

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sam - Posted on 19 March 2025

After a recent stay in CCU in QEQM waiting to go to St Georges in Tooting. The team, from the sister right through to the cleaner and catering staff, couldnt have been nicer or more helpful and created a positive experience in difficult times. The nursing staff were very knowledgeable and made both patient and family feel confident in the handling of their care. Even the food options for gluten intolerance were far better and tastier than a recent comparable experience in a London hospital. This team really do know how to care for patients and their families which is just as important when times are stressful. Here you are a person and patient not just a bed number, couldnt recommend them highly enough.

  4. Review titled No help

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anthony Mitchell - Posted on 10 October 2024

I was referred to orthopaedics by my gp. That department failed to answer the phone to her, so she told me that I had to attend Qeqm A&e, she apologised for the fact that it would take many hours. When I eventually saw an orthopaedic registrar, he looked, felt and photographed my knee, told me nothing - no diagnosis, no prognosis, no advise, no treatment. He said he would discuss my case with his consultant at the meeting the next morning, and walked away. He did not refer me back to nurse, just left me. I asked him what would happen next and he advised me I would get a text, message or email after that meeting. So far , 6 days later, I have received nothing. My condition continues, I can’t get to see my Gp for 2 weeks and their reception suggests that I go to …… A&e who clearly can’t do anything for me. The record on my NHS app makes no reference to my visit to Qeqm, so I can’t refer to that to see whether there are are helpful notes on that which might help me. The entire experience was disgraceful.

Dear Mr Mitchell, Thank you for passing on your feedback. I am however so sorry that this was the experience you had when using our Orthopaedics service. I completely empathise with you, this is not the way we would expect our patients to be treated. Communication is always key and I will be feeding this back to the department. In the meantime have you now received a text/email or message? If not please email my team which is the Patient Voice & Involvement Team via our email address which is: ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net We will try to assist you. 5. Review titled Had me in stitches!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael Patrick O'Hara - Posted on 25 October 2024

On the 24th October, because of my chronic stupidity, I fell from a ladder whilst strimming the top of a high bush in our garden. I landed on concrete and amongst minor injuries I also hit the right side of my head which received a large cut and bled profusely. My wife and daughter helped me whilst we waited for the ambulance. The two ladies who crewed the ambulance treated me with great care and good humour and then took me to the hospital. The team in Resuscitation were excellent. Highly professional and thorough. I needed a good number of stitches plus a couple of scans before I was discharged. The head dressing made me look like a smurf but throughout the whole procedure everybody in the unit was excellent ,from the medical team to the caterers who saw that I had a cuppa and a sandwich. If the review allowed me to name them I would do so , but I can only say that they were fantastic. Thank you all - you had me literally in stitches!

  6. Review titled Another great experience at my blood test

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Linda - Posted on 17 September 2024

Due for review blood tests. Seen early by calm, competent and reassuring phlebotomist. She was kind and took account of my nervousness. The procedure was quick and painless. There was no bruising. A perfect experience.

  8. Review titled The Observation Ward

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Sophie W - Posted on 08 September 2024

I was transferred to the Observation Ward after a brief time in A&e. The porters, nursing staff and doctor were all friendly and empathic. They genuinely seemed to care about making sure everyone felt comfortable and were looked after. I have had some fairly negative experiences with nhs services recently but I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here today. The only issue was that one of the bathrooms wasn’t the cleanest, but there was nothing else I could fault.

  9. Review titled Follow up from previous review

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vivienne Shelley - Posted on 27 July 2024

Having now been discharged I would like to follow up on my previous review. The care I received was 2nd to none. The only problem I can see is it would be nice if like me your diabetic the food could do with stating how many carbohydrates are in it. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 57 years and know how to carb count but people who are new to it may find it hard.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vivienne Shelley - Posted on 22 July 2024

I was bought to a & e by ambulance, after a few falls. Went straight to resus then Majors then AMU and finally Birchington and I don't have a bad word to say about my experience or care. I'm still there now, the staff are really lovely, they respond to your requests quickly and explained everything to you. Not sure I could do their job, I wouldn't like to look after me! Keep it qeqm you're amazing.
