Visited Ophthalmology department for YAG laser capsulotomy. Wonderful staff. I was assessed and treatment completed in an hour. Extremely pleased with the results. Absolutely Amazing! Can't thank them enough.

Review titled Shocking behaviour from triage nurse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2024
Rude, unprofessional nurse who displayed a condescending and belittling attitude. Failed to make initial enquiries to an elderly, disabled patient and refused to undertake basic tasks to carry out observations, instead ordering relatives to do it using a condescending and belittling tone. When challenged in response to their attitude, they kissed their teeth. I would not visit this UCC again, and urge others not to either.

Review titled Excellent Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was in a lot of pain and the regular painkillers I’d been taking weren’t helping me so I went to urgent care. I did also have a rash around one side of my waist. The GP I saw confirmed it was shingles straightaway so I was prescribed both antivirals & stronger painkillers very quickly which has helped my recovery immensely so I want to thank the GP that I saw for his prompt diagnosis.

Review titled Incredible Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had my gallbladder removed at Queen Mary’s hospital, and felt compelled to share my complete gratitude to the entire staff that took care of me. From the all the nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists and after care team, every single individual was amazing and attentive. From someone who was extremely nervous going in for this surgery, I was kept at ease and comfortable from start to finish. Just wanted to pass on my thanks to the entire team and feel the NHS doesn’t always get the gratitude they deserve. For anyone due for treatment there, I can ensure you that you will be in the most incredible hands.

Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a gynae operation last week. I would like to thank all the staff from admission to discharge. The ward was extremely clean and the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. I couldn’t fault anything about my stay here. I’m writing this review to say a big thank you to all the staff that made my stay comfortable.

Review titled Useless and inefficient

I brought my son in with severe allergic reaction, In my view life threatening as the neck is getting swollen. I find it hard to understand what the doctor was saying. I am afraid that doctor was not able to understand me fully as well. After waiting and seeing 2 people we received no help at all but given the useless letter for another hospital. I am shocked. Really bad…unprofessional. I am so very sad.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we welcome all feedback and hope the learning we take will enable us to improve our service. I am sorry to hear that on the day you attended with your son you found the service less than satisfactory. As an Urgent Treatment Centre we deal with minor injuries and minor illnesses much the same as a GP practice would. We do not have access to diagnostics eg; blood tests, scans etc. Anybody suffering with a life threatening condition should call 999 or attend A&E. I understand that following consultation you were given a letter and asked to attend another hospital, this would be to attend A&E for further investigations due to the reasons I alluded to above. We do have a certain level of professionalism that we expect from all our staff and I am sorry if you felt you did not receive this on the day you attended. I do hope your son is now recovering. Review titled Really good surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Robin Stone - Posted on 27 June 2024
My inguinal hernia was treated on Monday with open surgery, leaving me in almost no pain and very comfortable. A curious difference from another hernia operation, 30 years ago, which left me in agony for weeks. The nurses and doctors were kind and helpful, and the whole experience was rather like a party! I just had my dressing changed at my GPs, and the wound was clean and healing well. Well done and thank you to Queen Mary's, and of course my GP.

Review titled Unprofessional staff
Rated 2 stars out of 5

A family member had an appt with an out of hours doctor as advised by 111, they were seen in triage and the nurse was annoyed they were there as apparently they were fine, and did not need help. They were later taken to hospital with a serious lung infection. Appauling treatment and will not be returning

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, all feedback is welcomed and we use it to improve our service. I am sorry that your relative's visit to the Urgent Treatment Centre was not a positive one when they attended. We do have a certain level of professionalism that we expect from all our staff and please extend our apologies if your relative felt they did not receive this. If they would like to contact me directly with more details I will be happy to investigate further. Unfortunately I will not be able to discuss the consultation with anybody else due to confidentiality reasons. Once again please accept my apologies and I do hope they are now recovering. Review titled Long waiting hours
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by D Shetty - Posted on 30 April 2024
I was advised by NHS 111 to take my daughter to Queen Mary’s Urgent care centre as she had vomited several times and had developed red rashes on her face cheeks. Didn’t expect that we would have to wait for more than 3 hours which was painful as my daughter kept vomiting even while she was at the hospital. Surprised to see that there was only one doctor to attend to people. NHS need to do something to improve and help with reducing the long wait at the hospital as it defeats the purpose of calling it an urgent care centre.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we welcome all feedback and use it to improve our service. I am sorry that your visit to the Urgent Treatment Centre was not a positive one. As an Urgent Treatment Centre, we are an unscheduled service meaning we operate on a sit and wait basis. Due to this we have no control over the amount of patients attending at any one time. Whilst we endeavour to keep waiting times to a minimum, in extremely busy periods they can be higher than we would like. Best Wishes Sue Hopkins Senior Operations Manager Bexley Unscheduled Care
