  1. Review titled Behaviour exhibited by a member of staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2025

I was discussing the Respect form with a lady doctor regarding my husband at about 3.15 on Tuesday 7th January. This is not the easiest conversation. One of the senior doctors / consultants came up, interrupted without any apology or excuse and informed the doctor I had been speaking to about some other business. I was treated as though I were a piece of furniture. There was no acknowledgement whatsoever. When he went, the doctor, who had been looking very uncomfortable, apologized to me. I assured her that there was no blame attached to her. He obviously has no manners or consideration for others. He might be very clever, but he has a lot to learn about how to behave.

  2. Review titled Very helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My mother was rushed in on 26/01/2025. She was rushed through and treated quickly. The staff were very good and caring. The following day she went to ward 9 and again the care was excellent and everything was explained fully to me. The same situation in ward 4 then again in ward 7 where she is now. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hospital.

  3. Review titled Lack of organisation in the Pharmacy department

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2025

My husband was ready to come home early in the morning. He was told he had to wait until 5.00pm for the meds to be delivered. Finally at 5.45pm I found a nurse who was helpful and told me that we could leave and the meds would be sent - free to us - by taxi. They were delivered at 7.40pm. Surely those meds should have been ready in the morning. If they had been, another bed would have been made available much earlier. This could mean that an ambulance queueing could have delivered their patient and gone to help someone else. Also is this the best way to spend NHS money? Are all those in the pharmacy department pharmacists, because dispensers could do most of the work and they would be cheaper, or so I have been informed by a former professor of pharmacy. I would be very interested to achieve some kind of response from those in authority in the hospital. If they need any help with organisation, I am available.

13 hours in A&E with an 83 year old with a heart problem, to be told after having pain for 20 minute, it could be a sign of a heart attack! 5 different doctors, consultants etc all asking the same questions! Kept in, the morning wasn’t much better.

  5. Review titled A and E visit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jenny Yates - Posted on 01 December 2024

We visited Lichfield minor injuries and Burton A and E due to my husband coming off his bike due to a water filled pothole I would like to thank all of the staff everyone was friendly and efficient I was particularly impressed with the nurse accompanying an elderly lady to xray. She spoke to her to reassure her and asked her if she wanted to hold her hand.

  6. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was admitted onto ward 9 on November 7th with undiagnosed cardiac issues. As the cardio ward was so busy, I spent 5 nights there. I want to pay tribute, and thank all the staff, especially the wonderful nurses who supported me, with care, compassion, and humour. It's only when you are admitted onto a ward that you really appreciate what pressure these dedicated people are under. Thank you all...

  8. Review titled Brilliant and Professional Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Today I attended Endoscopy Unit Burton for a polyp removal. After the procedure and whilst awaiting discharge I suffered a serious reaction. This was identified immediately by staff and I received immediate attention and care from a number of staff. They were Brilliant, identifying and dealing with my issues. They are True professionals and a credit to themselves and the National Health Service. Many many thanks to these Stars .

  9. Review titled The no Treatment Centre

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Richy65 - Posted on 13 November 2024

I am sitting here writing this review at 03.22 in the morning. I am still distressed at how I was treated yesterday (12/11/24). I had an appointment for 08.00 for a pain relieving injection to my left hip at the Burton Treatment Centre. My hips had been bad since August of this year. My day started at 05.00 I thought I would have to leave the house by 07.00 just to be sure of getting there for 08.00. There are no buses at 07.00 and I was told not to drive so it would have to be a taxi (£15.00). On arrival I waited for the staff to trundle in and I was the first person to be called in to the centre. Everything was going fine the nurse who took all my details was very pleasant, I saw a junior Doctor before seeing the Consultant who said it wouldn't be long. It is a very simple procedure and only takes about 10 minutes at most. It's just needle into groin area then an X-ray to make sure the needle is in the correct position then administer the drug. Many phsyiotherapists are trained to do it. It is not too complicated. At about 09.10 I was asked to change into the theatre gown and I waited and I waited and I waited. Then at 12.10 a staff nurse said the Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon had moved on the afternoon list. She said the morning list was for males and the afternoon list was for females. So there I was cancelled with all the theatre gowns on. It goes beyond disgusting. It is a vile abuse of an innocent human being. I also suffer from sleep apnoea the pain relieving injections were an essential part of my future well being. Pain during the night from my arthritic hips causes me to wake up. I know the staff in the NHS (nurses and doctors) couldn't give a toss about anything except striking for more money but they shouldn't take it out on innocent patients. The same thing happened about 12 months earlier I was cancelled when I was sitting in the reception area. No more abuse of patients.

  10. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Theresa - Posted on 18 October 2024

For the week leading up to my appointment I must have received 5 text messages to remind me of my appointment. On the day of the appointment with very short notice you send me a message to say my appointment is cancelled. I too work for the nhs and find this poor practice. Especially with the fact that I cancelled my planned visits for the afternoon. Disgusting behaviour.
