Review titled Brilliant and Professional Team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michael FERRIS - Posted on 11 November 2024
Today I attended Endoscopy Unit Burton for a polyp removal. After the procedure and whilst awaiting discharge I suffered a serious reaction. This was identified immediately by staff and I received immediate attention and care from a number of staff. They were Brilliant, identifying and dealing with my issues. They are True professionals and a credit to themselves and the National Health Service. Many many thanks to these Stars .

Review titled The no Treatment Centre
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Richy65 - Posted on 13 November 2024
I am sitting here writing this review at 03.22 in the morning. I am still distressed at how I was treated yesterday (12/11/24). I had an appointment for 08.00 for a pain relieving injection to my left hip at the Burton Treatment Centre. My hips had been bad since August of this year. My day started at 05.00 I thought I would have to leave the house by 07.00 just to be sure of getting there for 08.00. There are no buses at 07.00 and I was told not to drive so it would have to be a taxi (£15.00). On arrival I waited for the staff to trundle in and I was the first person to be called in to the centre. Everything was going fine the nurse who took all my details was very pleasant, I saw a junior Doctor before seeing the Consultant who said it wouldn't be long. It is a very simple procedure and only takes about 10 minutes at most. It's just needle into groin area then an X-ray to make sure the needle is in the correct position then administer the drug. Many phsyiotherapists are trained to do it. It is not too complicated. At about 09.10 I was asked to change into the theatre gown and I waited and I waited and I waited. Then at 12.10 a staff nurse said the Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon had moved on the afternoon list. She said the morning list was for males and the afternoon list was for females. So there I was cancelled with all the theatre gowns on. It goes beyond disgusting. It is a vile abuse of an innocent human being. I also suffer from sleep apnoea the pain relieving injections were an essential part of my future well being. Pain during the night from my arthritic hips causes me to wake up. I know the staff in the NHS (nurses and doctors) couldn't give a toss about anything except striking for more money but they shouldn't take it out on innocent patients. The same thing happened about 12 months earlier I was cancelled when I was sitting in the reception area. No more abuse of patients.

Review titled Terrible service

For the week leading up to my appointment I must have received 5 text messages to remind me of my appointment. On the day of the appointment with very short notice you send me a message to say my appointment is cancelled. I too work for the nhs and find this poor practice. Especially with the fact that I cancelled my planned visits for the afternoon. Disgusting behaviour.

Review titled Absolute waste of my time!
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 September 2024
So after waiting 5 months for an ‘urgent’ appointment regarding my gallbladder I was extremely disappointed, I went into the appointment with the consultant to be asked why I was there? I had to explain why I was there. Then asked if I wanted my gallbladder removed, there was no opinion given as to whether it needed removing, didn’t ask about a family history or whether I would be best off leaving it or not, my appointment was at 2.30 & granted I was seen at 2.21 but I was out of the hospital grounds by 2.31, the appointment could easily have been conducted over the telephone, it was an absolute waste of my time booking time off work & travelling there & back to basically be fobbed off, the consultant didn’t even look at my scan I had previously, just said I needed an mri so yet most probably another 5 plus month wait, didn’t mention what would happen if I had another attack in the mean time.

Original appointment for cataract was cancelled-apparently by mistake, then they forgot to put the notes forward for a date for surgery. Finally got the surgery date turned up for 12:30 and waited 4hrs the drops were already wearing off so felt everything. Get home to find someone else’s name &information on discharge paperwork. Now wondering if they did the job right and what kind mess they’re going to make of the other eye-Doesn’t bode well does it

Review titled Great experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emma Fallon - Posted on 20 September 2024
I had my wisdom tooth removed this week. Not a nice procedure and I was dreading it but I have to say all of the stuff were amazing. From the minute I walked in, the health care assistants, the nurses, the anaesthetists and the surgeon were outstanding. 10/10 They cared for me very well and I was discharged in a very efficient way. Thank you !

Attended burton AnE with gran daughter around 5.30 ish . I was totally amazed the shortness of time ...they had set up two clinics to process and see patients we were in there just over an hour . Granddaughter had consultation, x Ray then plaster all within an hour Got to say compared to last time I took my husband which was a Tuesday evening in June and five hour wait complete turn around ..100 per cent to staff can't thankyou enough Not sure if it's labour getting I'm but if this is a sign things are turning round I absolutely applaud ..

Review titled Superb attitude and staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jim Beestone - Posted on 18 July 2024
Took my child to Queens, as 111 were concerned about meningitis. Went to A&E where we were seen very promptly and triaged appropriately, and then a bit of a wait (understandably) as we were no longer an emergency. However, when my daughter's temperature spiked again, she was treated immediately and taken up to the PAU, where she was really well looked after by extremely empathetic staff. In all, though a bit of a fright for us as parents, our daughter's experience was really positive, from the nurses pulling funny faces to make her laugh, through to the passing paramedic who lent her a pen so she could do her activity book in the waiting room, and the registrars and doctors who explained everything about her symptoms to her mum and I. A really friendly, kind set of staff who helped to turn what could have been a very scary experience for a toddler into a positive one.
