  1. Review titled Great Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anne Lewis - Posted on 21 November 2023

''I was on Ward 3 for an extensive period. In the time I was being treated the care I received at Burton was 2nd to none. This care came from the domestics, catering, HCAs, nurses, doctors, physio, OT, porters, Chaplain, Priest & others carrying out tests/scans etc. Nothing was too much trouble, people went the extra mile in ensuring I had everything I needed. The staff (despite being a very busy Ward) managed to treat me as an individual amongst their numerous other patients. I was treated with care, kindness and understanding throughout my stay. This was given by all the day and night staff. They also never complained with the amounts of drinks they made me both day and night when I couldn't sleep.0 The doctors also went above and beyond in liasising with other Specialists to ensure the best treatment on my behalf. The domestics kept the wards/room etc spotless which was very reassuring when using the hospital facilities. Due to dietary needs catering bent over backwards to accommodate me and the food provided was great/lots of choice on the menu. My Spiritual needs were also met by the Hospital, with regular visits to me by both Chaplain and Priest. Again a holistic approach to a patients needs & was much appreciated. Then I had the input of the Physio and OT, who gave me information and arranged equipment/services for home. All of this makes the difference to a stay in hospital and recovery. My experience of Burton hospital has been a very positive one from being admitted. Well done all staff at this hospital''

  2. Review titled Fantastic care at Treatment Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanna Dimitriou - Posted on 16 August 2023

I recently had surgery (tonsillectomy) at the Treatment Centre in Queens Hospital Burton and was delighted with the care I received. All of the staff involved, especially the nurses, were extremely friendly, professional and caring. They took time to explain everything to me from the procedure to aftercare and medication. They treated me like a human being and reassured me when I got anxious just before the surgery. Only thing was that I would have appreciated a bit more privacy and quiet when recovering in the ward after my surgery as my bed was right next to the nurses offices so it was quite loud and busy. Nevertheless, everything else was stellar - I don't believe I have ever been better cared for in a hospital environment. Thank you to all the staff at the Treatment Centre!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sara Poole - Posted on 12 August 2023

I went to A&E after feeling unwell for a while, was seen within 15 minutes and put on AMU for 2-3 days. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was then put on Ward 8 which was the same, staff couldnt do enough for you. One day they got the meal wrong but they helped me recover and discharged me. Doctors and nurses very informative and couldnt have asked for better care. Thank you Burton Hospital

  5. Review titled Superb and very caring Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John S Grimley - Posted on 02 June 2023

Today 2nd June I had a steroid injection in my wrist and the care I received was faultless. What an asset to the RA department this Doctor is, I hope she stays a very long time. Such a shame I can't name her.

  6. Review titled A vile institution

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Richy63 - Posted on 15 June 2023

My appointment for pain relief injections was cancelled within a hour of appointment time. I had to take 2 buses to get to Burton hospital as I was told not to drive. On arrival I was told my appointment had been cancelled. They could not be bothered to ring in the morning. I have been waiting since December of 2021 for these injections. The definition of a hospital is 'an institution providing medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people'. This place fails miserably. Staff have a cavalier attitude to human suffering. Disgusting.

  7. Review titled A&E saved my husbands life!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by K J Tomlinson - Posted on 21 February 2024

Took hubby to A&E with a headache that just wasn't normal for him .... expecting to be sent packing as his only symptom was this unusual headache. Seen immediately and it was a ruptured brain aneurysm. They started him on medication and within 4 hours he was transferred to Nottingham. The staff in A&E looked after him superbly but also looked after me as I was in total shock. Thank you all !!!

  8. Review titled I would never go to Burton Hospital ever again

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 July 2023

Went to A&E with a letter from my doctor to be seen promptly but I was still made to wait 6 hours. The system is no good. They don’t listen to you. Staff clearly don’t communicate with each other. I was asked the same questions repeatedly. Also patient confidentiality they no nothing of. I was asked personal offensive questions in front of my spouse. It’s just wrong. Nobody was proactive on helping to diagnose my problem. I was sent to the waiting room various times and was there until early hours. I have zero confidence in this hospital. It’s really quite worrying the low level of service they provide and something needs to be done about it. All I can say is Good Hope was outstanding and absolutely put Burton to shame.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Evans - Posted on 25 June 2023

Having arrived through A&E then admitted to ward 14 then onto ward 30 my experience was extremely positive, the care from the nurses and doctors was in my experience the best I’ve received having had my 4th hospital admission this year I had some issues previously but felt that this time I was really looked after so well always on top of my pain relief and the medications I needed, from surgery procedure to discharge. Please send me gratitude to all the staff within this department and wards they all did an amazing job when the department was very overwhelmed.
