  1. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul McDonnell - Posted on 12 October 2022

I attended the Eye Clinic for Cataract Surgery January 2022 While having my first test done, the Consultant was looking at a lump by my left Eye. I explained that my GP was going to scrape it off. He said it should not be scraped off, and asked me if I would like it removed, I was only too pleased to say yes, but even more pleased when he said I will do it now. All went well, but four weeks later I was phoned and told the Consultant wanted to see me the next day. Skin Cancer was confirmed by the biopsy, so I was booked in for another operation. This time it meant the Consultant had to go deeper and a bigger cut. I was so happy when I finally got the results to say, I was now clear of the Cancer. The Consultant was excellent, and so were all the Team. The same Consultant went on to perform the Cataract surgery, and I finally got my second Catarrh surgery done in September 2022. Going on my experience, I would highly recommend the Eye Clinic to anyone. Only have very high praise for the Consultant, and all the Team. They are all very reassuring, kind, and very polite. I do not think I could get any better treatment anywhere. So if you are waiting to have Cataract Surgery and Burton Eye Clinic, be assured you will be in very good hands. I would just like to say a Very Big Thank You, to the Consultant, and all the Team at the Eye Clinic. My Treatment was First Class

  2. Review titled Concerning

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had to take my poorly son of four years of age in with breathing problems and waited over 5 hours to be seen. Adults were seen over poorly young children and babies which is wrong and there was hardly any staff. No bedding or blankets. My son had to lie on a rubber bed. When through to see the doctor and nurses the staff are good and some staff are so lovely but the system of the place is terrible. My son finally got help at 6am which was medication within minutes which helped his breathing but he had to struggle for hours beforehand. Why? Didn’t expect to be in burton A&E for 9 hours.

  4. Review titled Amazing team performance

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by E Pritchard - Posted on 25 August 2022

I accompanied my 91-year-old mother to accident and emergency. I'd called 111 and they sent an ambulance crew who felt that her severe symptoms needed investigation. I was so impressed by the way everyone at the hospital pulled together and how cheerful, helpful, positive and friendly every single person we interacted with was. I could not fault any of the nurses, doctors, trainees, porters, cleaners, or members of the Xray and scanning departments. No-one obviously enjoys going to hospital at a worrying time but this experience was as good as it possibly could have been. I am so grateful.

  5. Review titled Consultant ENT - Secretaries great

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by VJo - Posted on 17 August 2022

Consultant referred me for MRI on head due to Pulsatile Tinnitus. Radiology rang and said they had changed it to an appt for CT on neck. I contacted Consultants secretary (who didn’t work on the day) and another lady answered on her behalf. I explained what had happened and that the appt was for two days time. She said she would investigate. True to her word within a few hours she phoned me back to say she had spoken to Consultant and he was happy with the change and to attend the appointment. She was amazing, putting my mind at rest that I was having correct procedure.

Hello Because I am not a Physician, I am unable to comment on the procedures, recommendations, and medication determined during my visit. I can ,however comment on the way that I was treated in the Eurology Department. All of the Staff were courtious, helpful, and very professional. I could not have asked for, or have received better attention, for which I am most gratefull Kind Regards R Whittington

  8. Review titled Felt so at ease amazing forever grateful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Heather Kimberley - Posted on 21 July 2022

I had never been I hospital or had surgey, so havimg being admitted for emergency gallbladder removal due to an infection I was very worried and scared. But I had no need to be ward 30 were absolutely 100% amazing couldn't fault the staff what so ever all totaly amazing people. Everyone I came in to contact with were lovely so kind caring and compassionate, I have never in my life received such care from complete strangers, angels in unifom. Surgery day came I was very scared the nurse in charge on ward 30 sat with me for a bit to reasure me. After losing my husband here at Burton almost 3 years ago all sorts were going though my head, she was so reassuring and comforting and helped me chill a little. I didn't know when I was going for surgey but withinn10 mins they were ready. I got ready worried again and one of the nurses came with me to theater and explained i was extremely anxious and the theater team were absolutely amazing. They didn't rush they took the time to explain what was what when they were going to do - drugs and stickers wise obvs not the op. They gave me a breather before going though. Before I knew it I was in recovery and again meet by the same lovely staff kind caring compassionate warm loving reassuring gental people. I spent a week in due to unexpected post op complications but the same level of care continued the whole way though. I have never in my life felt so look after and cared for by strangers, from being in A&E - C-T - Ward 30- theater. The whole time I was in I couldn't fault the service one bit. The cleaners were lovey the one lady on the catering staff went above and beyond because of my dietary issues, the ward staff the student staff the drs the surgeons everyone involed with my care were amazing. Well and truly greatfull to them all. Hopefully will receive the same treatment down at the treatment center with urology for the unexpected complication. But thank you so much Burton hospital for having such amazing genuine lovey staff who do an amazing job - espically in the heatwave we jst had and still following covid restrictions as well. Where do I send a thank you card to?
