Review titled Noisy wards
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2024
As per usual my review isn't put up as same as my last visit I was going through what could have been life threatening and left and not offered pain relief because I am ' young ' and didn't kick off .I know wards aren't the quietest of places but my experiences it's the staff discussing there own life's very loudly and baning bins and doors this can be avoided it's nit discussing or dealing with other patients that's cane be helped but the staff talk so loud to each other and have no respect for the sock trying to sleep and heal have some respect patients don't want to hear your holiday plans or that your going for a fag or that certain patients are nightmares

Review titled Immediate consistent reassurance and instructions provided.

Telephone dispatcher provided consistent reassurance and instructions for an emergency call out for 16 month old baby with febrile convulsion. During this traumatic experience, she held my hand verbally until the arrival of the paramedics who provided faultless emergency care to the infant while reassuring two distressed grandparents who were babysitting the baby. Fabulous experience with Rotherhams emergency services and it is a comfort knowing their response was so quick, 11 minutes from calling the dispatcher to the arrival of the paramedics. We really are very fortunate to have the NHS.

I have recently had a therapeutic mammoplasty and would like to thank everyone for my excellent treatment. The staff in the daycare unit were kind and compassionate and really put me at ease. Right from the start of my first diagnosis rdgh cancer care have been there for me, from the reception staff, the nurses and my consultants, I couldn't have asked for more. Thankyou all once again xx

We arrived at A&E 10pm in the evening and was still waiting to be seen by a doctor at 6am the following morning. Staff seemed friendly but not very understanding as being told to wait when that is all you’ve done for the past 8 hours was not very helpful. I would not recommend this hospital as my partner was left sat on an uncomfortable chair in excruciating pain and was not offered any form of pain relief for the entire duration that we were there. The only positive experience we had was the triage nurse as we had been waiting that long she came to check on us and apologised for the wait

I attended Rotherham Derc and was seen by Sophie despite there being some confusion about my appointment so thank you for going above and beyond to facilitate that. I would like to record my thanks for Sophie for professional and engaging manner which left me feeling so positive about the outcomes of my visit. She is a star and I hope will be recognised as a great ambassador for Rotherham Hospital and the Diabetic Education and Resource Centre. Thank you Sophie.

Had a gastroscopy booked for 3.15 pm. Arrived in plenty of time. Was not told they were running two to three hours late. Had to leave and have asked to be rebooked. Very poor service and communication

Review titled Phenomenal service

We had a brilliant experience with the NHS last week. Rang 111 around 2.30pm because my son had some UTI symptoms and we didn’t want to wait until Monday in case it was a UTI. They said a doctor would ring within 12hr. Doctor rang back at 4.30pm. They arranged an out of hours GP appointment for 5.15pm. Arrived at the hospital, waited for maybe 10m, and was seen pretty much on time. The children’s waiting room had lots of toys to keep kids entertained. Quick appointment with the Doctor, dip stick, and we had a prescription for antibiotics by 5.30pm. How amazing and efficient is that!? ❤️🩺💊 well done NHS!

Review titled No Complaints At All
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I needed a gastroscopy and I was absolutely dreading it. Everything I read was awful and all the tales were horrific. I've been today, and had it, without sedation, just the throat spray and it was fine. It wasnt fun, I hope I don't need another, but it was manageable. The nurses and the surgeon were great, very professional but friendly at put me at ease. Special thanks to the nurse who held my hand and talked to me throughout, she made a huge difference to me. If you need a gastroscopy and you want the sedative have it, but you can cope without it. I know its easy to say, but relax, trust the team, listen to them, keep calm and it will be over in no time. I was a bit shaky afterwards but I think that was relief it was over. I've been dreading this for weeks and I'm so glad it's done with, but I cannot fault the care I received. We constantly hear criticism of the NHS but I can't fault the care I received. Thanks to all concerned for looking after me and making it bearable.

Review titled Total lack of understanding and care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by AFroggatt - Posted on 24 February 2024
Husband admitted last night, no one came to ask if he needed a drink, food etc, been in resus most of the day. Poor gent across asking for toilet, told abruptly by nurse he would have to wait. Twenty minutes the poor man was shouting for help. I had to chase a bedpan up for him. On this shift patient dignity did not exist. I tried to approach a group of staff about my husbands medication ,two stonewalled me, walked past me as if they couldn’t see me trying to get attention. Two others chatting, one tutted and walked off, the other helped me sort things out. Really different treatment on the day shift. Much better. It’s a shame the night shift let us down so much.
