Review titled Stunned

I asked for a hearing check and said my hearing aid also wasn't working. I got an appt for a repair! The aid is apparently known for this fault but if it happens often I need to go back. It's a newish hearing aid? I didn't get a clear answer on the hearing check other than it's now 3 to 5 yes and I have to go back to the GP instead. I thought things must have changed. Was given the aid back. Not checked not wiped and I left. After a few minutes I realised it wasn't working. Tried to turn it off and on again and had to take it out because I couldn't do it. I got it open tried to close it and it was jammed. I couldn't do anything so I went back. I waited in the waiting room and the person came and asked for the aid and told me to sit there. She came out handed it to me and then proceeded to advise in the waiting room with everyone listening and watching. It was embarrassing. She told me not to open the device for 48 hours and then went down to 24 hours. The battery was new it would last 2 to 3 days but they don't so then I was told I could open it enough to turn it off. The problem is I then had to state my medical history in the waiting room to explain I couldn't have something that's a problem to open and close. She didn't seem to care how public this was and just kept grinning as she did from the start. I'm now wondering if I open it up when the battery runs out is it going to fall apart? It was a horrendous experience and from start to finish I felt as if this was beneath her and and I'm wasting her time. I am a person not some some public side show. Do better!...and pray I don't get her again.

Review titled Exemplary care

Came in for some surgery on my foot. From start to finish, all staff were amazing, kind, caring and went over and above. After the surgery, there were some complications with my blood pressure and I had to stay in recovery for 3 hours. I cannot praise then staff enough, with the anaesthetist checking in and making sure that I had additional medication, the male nurse looking after me, making sure I had coffee and toast, sending for my phone and calling my husband. Nothing but praise and admiration. Thank you. I only wish I had names of people.

I was admitted for abdominal pains and quickly diagnosed and treated for appendicitis the next day. All the staff I met were really friendly and made my stay and treatment as comfortable as could be. I'd like to thank all the staff who treated me.

Review titled Cauldron of chaos??

Attended for 1200 cataract surgery at 1130,had waited until 1630,present process would be another hour, making it 1730,then another person and then ‘would be you’.I am a carer for my wife and needed to be at home to let my daughter go home. I must have wandered into a different hospital from the other reviewers……….tell me it is otherwise !!

Review titled Dreadful waiting times and poor care
Rated 1 star out of 5

Ive had essential medications withheld, waiting months for consult to find you only see the physio, poor quality of surgery, consultant that doesn't listen or care, initial waiting list 72 weeks, supposed very urgent redoing of op because first one poorly done delay in joining waiting list of 5 weeks then no spaces for surgery for months despite surgeon admitting delay makes good outcome less likely. No care from consultant.

Review titled Disappointed with service!
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had a few pregnancy complications. I called the triage number and was told I need to come in to be seen. After work I came in and waited over 4 hours and still wasn't seen by the doctor. I was told by a member staff it's one hour wait. After the one hour wait I told the receptionist I still haven't been seen and they mentioned they are not sure how long it will take for the doctor to see you. I am very disappointed with this service I won't recommend!

I attended A&E last night with my son who had a neck injury. From the smiling receptionist to the kind nurse and the impressive and extremely helpful consultant we were looked after so well and also speedily. Thank you very much for such a fantastic service. We are really grateful.

The staff are amazing however the a&e is disgusting, dirty run down uncomfortable and distressing for when you are sick. Had to spend night in there no pillows or blankets. Room was horrible. It’s like being in a third world hospital !!!!

Refered to fracture clinic after Xray and examination in a minor injuries unit. Xray was unclear do to lack of ability to straighten arm or get a good angle but showed signs of break (both scan and physical exam). Refered to get a better scan. Got a call from fracture clinic telling me they are not going to see me. Just move it about to keep it from going stiff, which nearly caused me to pass out in my examination. I will just have to chalk it up to cutting costs as scans cost money.
