  1. Review titled Still waiting to hear back

    by runningmr43 - Posted on 21 April 2023

Had a biopsy on my lower leg week before Xmas , said I should hear something back between 6/8 weeks, they passed so I managed to find a number to speak to someone, who assured me that they hadn’t forgotten about me and would hear something soon - wrong! Now currently at 4 Months later, still nothing, leg no better too. I give up with the NHS.

  4. Review titled Expect a long wait

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Steve Green - Posted on 29 December 2022

High volume A & E, dedicated staff, long waits. Went in for wrist and face X-rays, competently done, showed badly damaged eye socket and fractured wrist, but unable to get referral due to time restraints.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent visit to the Emergency Department at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital with a badly damaged eye socket and fractured wrist. It is lovely to receive such positive feedback regarding the dedicated staff and we are delighted to pass this on. However, I am sorry to hear of your long waiting time and we have fed your comments back to the senior staff and the Head of Nursing- Emergency and Acute Pathway. Confirmation has been provided that in line with other Trusts, the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centres and Minor Injuries Unit are all experiencing a huge influx of patients attending and have seen waiting times exceed the 4-hour target on a regular basis. While our staff working incredible hard during difficult and unprecedented demand there has also been delays in transferring patients to inpatient beds because of the acuity and their clinical need, which needs to be met within a hospital setting and this has impacted on waiting times and the number of patients waiting in the department. The number of patients waiting to book into our Urgent Treatment Centres has also risen dramatically and we have seen long queues stretching outside of the hospital foyers which is unacceptable but unfortunately not always unavoidable. We are currently striving to implement additional tools and services to resolve this situation and ensure we deliver safe, personal, and effective care to all our patients and reduce the distress and frustration caused due to long waiting times. If you would like to provide further information about your experience you can contact the Patient Experience team by email at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk Or if you prefer you can discuss further any concerns you may have about our services with our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further. Many thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback. Sarah Ridehalgh Patient Experience Facilitator

  5. Review titled Absolute brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 12 November 2022

I rang 111 and was given an appointment to go to Urgent care. I was seen immediately on arrival by triage and then given a drs appointment for 1:30 and even though I had to wait and could not sit due to my condition- the staff were supportive and very helpful. I was seen and then passed onto surgical team. Seen by them took bloods etc and told to go and get a drink and got a buzzer. Went back for time stated and seen straight away. Given treatment plan and told if it gets worse to ring and come back in. Then have to come back in a weeks time. Everyone was lovely and so caring - cannot fault any member of staff, many going above and beyond well done and thank you

  6. Review titled Never ending pain

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Peter Dilworth - Posted on 26 August 2023

I received a left knee anthroscopy 11/2022 but as a result of my operation and long healing time my knee is now worse, my right knee also is very painfull a lot worse then my left. But the surgeon as told my gp there is no more he can do with either of my knees, But I have no explanation and living day to day in to much pain , walking is unbearable and is pend the vast majority of my time laid on the bed. A letter of explanation would have been nice informing me why I had been discharged and why nothing can be done to help me , at least then I would have written evidence for claiming pip ect.

  7. Review titled Fantastic care and caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Stacey Bates-Robinson - Posted on 18 November 2022

I attended recently with my Daughter who was very unwell. She is not very good with needles and was quite anxious about attending. The staff where so caring and friendly putting her at ease. The department was extremely busy, however even in these circumstances the care and compassion she received was fantastic. We greatly appreciate all they did.
