  1. Review titled Excellent patient care and support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2023

I visited the women’s health department and was understandably feeling very anxious about the procedure - it took quite a while for the procedure to begin as I was asking questions . However , the 3 members of staff in the room with me were nothing short of fantastic from start to finish . They were patient , kind , supportive and very reassuring about the whole thing. They are very skilled at reassuring patients and if I were to ever have ( hopefully not ) a similar procedure again then I would be reassured coming to Bolton - they work very hard and we need to show our support for the NHS staff . I will definitely not be as anxious next time - thankyou for helping me .

  2. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Grundy - Posted on 30 March 2023

We are writing this review in recognition of the excellent care, treatment & reassurance given to my son, & us, his parents, following a cataract operation on the eye unit. My son has a learning difficulty and every member of the team took time in explaining what was happening, ensuring he was aware of everything that would take place. He had a general anaesthetic and they were very aware that he was scared & anxious. They provided him, and us, reassurance, giving him time to ask questions and did not rush him. Considering the pressures that the NHS are facing & I am sure they had lots of other people to care for, they made us feel that it was essential for our son to be comfortable with the procedure. For anyone else I expect it’s a standard operation but for our son it wasn’t. He arrived as a very scared young man and he left with a big smile on his face. This was his first ever hospital stay and thankfully this positive experience will give him reassurance for the future. A massive thank you to everyone involved in his care, we so appreciate everything you do.

  4. Review titled Skillfull care service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Schofield - Posted on 05 April 2023

I visited the orthoptist for the first time in my life. I was genuinely amazed not only at the skilful qualities displayed during my treatment but, equally importantly, the communication and explanations that accompanied my treatment both by this orthoptist and subsequently the doctor. A credit to the department.

  5. Review titled 2 week referral time - 5 weeks!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 April 2023

The two week referral for a breast lump could not be met by the hospital. Instead, the appointment was nearer to 5 weeks. The NHS states that there is a legal right to be seen within this time but there seems to be no alternative but to wait. Meanwhile, the lump is growing and I’m stressed and not sleeping.

  6. Review titled The care I received was outstanding

    by Happypatient23 - Posted on 22 March 2023

I recently had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy at the endoscopy unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital. I was absolutely terrified at the thought of both procedures, but from the initial call to talk through the process to the actual day, the care I received was outstanding. The nurses were amazing and put me at ease straight away, and explained what they were doing at each step. I had the sedative offered and didn't feel either procedure. The aftercare staff were lovely. I was home in just over 2 hours. Thankyou to everyone there that day.

  8. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Warren Gaston - Posted on 09 February 2023

I was admitted to Bolton Hospital on 07/02/23 for minor surgery and I wanted to email to thank everyone involved in my care. I was admitted to G Block Day Unit for minor surgery on a pilonidal sinus. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left; my treatment was brilliant! I was made to feel so warm and welcomed by all the Hospital staff and I would recommend the hospital to anyone. I have never had surgery in my life so I was very nervous about the day but the nurses and doctors made me feel at ease. Thier bedside manner was perfect and even though the staff are over worked, they had the time to have a chat with me and offer a listening ear. Also, the anaesthesiologist and the surgical teams were brilliant in their handling of my care, the final result in the surgery was successful and they have made my life more pleasant to deal with. So again, thank you so much to everyone involved and I would like to with everyone all of the very best in the future.
