Review titled Amazing staff on ward 410
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Wendy Steward - Posted on 15 November 2023
I would like to say a massive thankyou to all the staff that helped me from when I first attended on 10.11.23 to when I was admitted to the ward and discharged on 14.11.23. The staff on the stroke ward where magnificent from Stroke specialists, doctors, nurses , cooking and cleaning staff every single one of them where professional, polite, kind and caring. I among many others was monitored closely and cared for amazingly. I cannot thankyou enough for your care and support to help me get on road to recovery.

Review titled Ward 216 Royal Derby Hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen - Posted on 24 November 2023
I have been an inpatient on ward 216 for the last week. I cannot praise the care I received highly enough. The staff from the ward hostesses to the medical team were all so kind, friendly and caring and nothing was too much bother. Particular mention to two health care assistants who spent their whole shifts reassuring and keeping safe 2 elderly ladies in my bay who had cognitive problems and were very confused - they cared for them as though they were a family member and treated them with such dignity and respect. Heartwarming to see. Thank you so much.

Review titled Rude and unprofessional staff and services
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2023
If there will be option to rate -5 I would give it to this hospital's rude and unprofessional staff with not enough doctors in it waiting time is 10+ hours and the patient is crying with the pain but the staff is laughing and ignoring the patient, the worst hospital in the world, do never bring your loved ones here. (You either live with peace at home than crawling in pain here)

Review titled Great Department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by PAUL DESALVIO - Posted on 15 November 2023
I was told to attend the a/e department by my local hospital . on arrival at unit 1 I was greeted by lovely reception team and especially a young man who asked me some questions and quickly decided I need to be admitted to the day care treatment centre. after ECG and other tests all performed very quickly and efficiently I was indeed admitted to this department . On arrival I was quickly seen by a very professional and efficient team , who after a very short wait, started testing me. I was there several hours because the staff were waiting for results. The doctor who was in charge of my case was magnificent . Great bedside manner . After all the tests where performed he diagnosed my problem and corrected it . I left home early evening all sorted . From having initially contacted 111 a visit to my local hospital and treatment at this department approx 7 hours inc travelling The department was not busy at all so do not know what is is like on a busy day. I am only reviewing my experience on the day I was admitted . Thankyou all derby .

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Rigby - Posted on 08 November 2023
I was admitted for emergency treatment and cannot thank the staff enough for their care and attention. When working in a pressured environment they kept me calm and dealt my anxiety. I can’t highlight one specific team or individual as everyone was perfect! :)

She was kind gentle and truly amazing. My faith has been restored in giving blood.

Review titled Labour ward were fantastic but ward 314 not so much
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2023
When I was in labour and things did not go to plan the labour ward were absolutely brilliant. When the alarm was pulled the team that were present were phenomenal. I could not fault them!! Thank you!! However as for ward 314 before and after the birth there was no care. No one came to check on me throughout my stay. I know there is a lot of people on the ward but the lack of care was shocking. The curtains were constantly closed which did not bother me, but with that no staff member would have known if I was okay. They would not have known if I was struggling being a new parent as when they did come on the ward they couldn't see me. I was kept on for 1 day after the birth and I would have received more care and support at home than ward 314. Staff were either chatting, ordering pizza or on their phones whenever I went to find a staff member rather than proactively coming to check on their patients. Appalling!

Review titled Mixed feelings about the practice
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 December 2023
Went with my relative to the a&e around 9:00 am on Friday . About 6p.m get diagnosed with apendictitis, moved to SAU,then to the ward 305 .Suppose to have a laparoscopic surgery to remove the appendix following day..... Didn't happen because of long list Developed high temperature , being only on IV paracetamol in agony, later on I V antibiotics, promised will go to the surgery later afternoon, not eating or drinking of course, then promised next day(Sunday) ..... still waiting with promise of a Sundays list ,then night list for the surgery ..still in agony .Rushed Monday morning finally to the theatre but the appendix burst... They should not wait that long, keeping the pt in agony ..... The whole weekend, I really think this was cruel to the pt and dangerous even life treating, could develop sepsis.... Staff on the ward was great, really apologetic but helpless with the "weekend" situation
