  1. Review titled Superb care throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark Terrett - Posted on 11 July 2024

Having been admitted for prostrate removal last week I have to say the care I received on Knapp Ward was outstanding from the moment I entered the hospital to leaving next day. The empathy and professionalism they showed along with the human touch was fantastic. They worked as a really cohesive team in a manner that gave me confidence and filled me with admiration. From the surgeon through to porters the whole team made me feel I mattered. They are all a credit to their profession and we are lucky to have these people working in our NHS

Acute Medical Unit A very good all round experience. I was kept informed at all stages, had 3 lots of bloods, Xray, results came back quickly.

  3. Review titled Wonderful hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Katie Wood - Posted on 06 June 2024

Attended A&E for my son with appendicitis and he was admitted for surgery. We were put on Bramble Ward (a children's ward) which was absolutely amazing. The staff were the best part about the experience though as nothing was ever too much to ask them for and they were all very kind. A special thank you to the surgeon (who's name the review will not let mention unfortunately) who went above and beyond to make my autistic son feel comfortable, even getting him a magazine after surgery as there was no shop on site for me to buy him one and it was all he talked about wanting from the time we arrived. Everyones kindness there at such a stressful time will not be forgotten. The only downside to the hospital for me was the lack of vegan food available. I know this probably doesn't sound like an issue as they had bread there for toast but a few vegan options would be good in an age where many more people are converting to a lifestyle that doesn't want to use animal products. But as I said it is only a small pet peeve compared to the fantastic service we were given here and the staff here are just wonderful human beings. Thank you.

Dear Staff at the Royal Devon University Healthcare Trust, I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care I received during my recent surgery on Tuesday 24th June, to repair my left perforated eardrum. I would like to extend my special thanks to all the staff at Knapp Ward, Theatre, and Recovery for their kindness. Your compassionate care made a significant difference in my journey. I would like to particularly thank the consultants and their respective teams for their reassurance and support. Kindest regards, Wayne Watkins

  6. Review titled Superb treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Olwen - Posted on 28 June 2024

I had to spend about 8 hours in Resus in A&E from the early hours of last Wednesday morning - it was potentially a very scary situation. The treatment was extremely efficient, well explained and done with kindness. The physical environment helped - it was light and spacious and once I could open my eyes I found the ceiling display of lit clouds in a blue sky very calming. I was lucky enough to get a diagnosis and the issue was effectively dealt with, so I was able to go home later that day (albeit rather wobbly). Thank you to everyone - you helped us so much.

  7. Review titled Top notch care yesterday and today 👍

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Simon Bunn - Posted on 01 May 2024

This hospital was poor, but somethings changed there. My father was admitted with chronic health issues. The attitude and help given was faultless, fast and efficient. Very professional and friendly staff on MTU and Capener wards. Thanks everyone for all you did over the last few days.

  8. Review titled Treated with respect.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anna Duke - Posted on 04 May 2024

The staff in A and E were all very friendly and kept you informed each step of the way. Although we had a reasonably long wat to see a Doctor, it was well worth it. The Doctor and the staff were all very kind and understanding. They were very professional and put my mind at rest. I did not feel rushed abd the A and E rooms were not overcrowded. I can not thank them enough for their kindness.

I was tested and put right by a very good team and at all times that I was there felt looked after. I was released later the same evening feeling much better. 10. Review titled Humbled and grareful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Carolyn G - Posted on 08 May 2024

My daughter attended Exeter R D and E hospital this afternoon. She was triaged within 20 minutes and although we waited around 3 hours to see a Doctor she received the very best care . Treated with respect, listened too and appropriate tests were arranged. She was a finally seen by a senior consultant who provided exactly the right advice she needed. He gave her so much time. What an amazing person he was, and I am eternally grateful that we have access to this level of healthcare in the South West.
