Review titled Upset.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2023
Waited 6 hours to be seen. Felt totally patronised by the Doctor. Made to feel as though I should not have attended A @ E. Had filled in questionnaire online 111 and they said ring 999 which is why I attended A @ E in the first place. I was having difficulty breathing. Doctor belittled me and upset me. I have witnessed someone die from an asthma attack previously so I know how dangerous it can be. The Doctor really needs to work on his bedside manner.

Review titled Unlucky timing I would say

After checking in, quite rapidly took the blood sample and left. Around 2h later shift changed and new patients arrived, were initially examined and taken in by doctor within half an hour where’s me and another patient clearly in severe pain sat waiting. 5h in asked for update and it took an hour to get one gentleman who’s been sat for nearly 8h finally got attention, got iv and sent to ct. after I finally got exam it, been told you’ll get painkillers and come back tomorrow for CT scan, when asked if I can get it on the day been advised we will call you 2h prior, no time slot given, means I will have to travel, wait countless hours and pay parking fees. The nurses and receptionists were great, doctor - can’t tell. Maybe need another 8h in waiting room to get dose of painkillers. If you take the patient, get it done there and then, diagnose. Don’t make people do unnecessary travels because you can prescribe painkillers to get the patient off the chest. I’d rather diagnose myself using google and come to the hospital to get it sorted or let nurse do it, doctors just... I’ve no words, disappointed. Nurses do the heavy lifting, I don’t understand they are just as qualified in fact I can bet nurses are better at doing IVs than doctors because they do it all the time where’s doctor looks at you, scribbles something down or better yet gives you paracetamol and sends you to another place to deal with you. To add a little bit more, every single sanitizer dispenser I tried using was empty - from entrance to ward 34

Review titled Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was attending the 1 Stop Breast Clinic because of an anomaly in a CT scan. I was given thorough testing and a biopsy taken. At all times I was treated with meticulous care and was re assured by the competence and professionalism of the hard working registrar and all the staff who worked in this busy department. I had an opportunity to talk about any concerns I had before I left after the department. I was very quickly given my results as soon as they were available. I was very impressed by the service and care I received .

Review titled Atrocious car parking
Rated 1 star out of 5
by DRob - Posted on 27 March 2023
Purely a parking review. Poor availability to park at this hospital. No available spaces in any carpark . Drove around for 30 minutes. Told to park on a street over a mile away and walk in. Very poor parking facilities and I was informed that there are no plans to improve the situation any time soon. I dread getting an appointment at this hospital.

I would just like to thank all of the absolutely wonderful staff, who were extremely busy, but extremely professional and compassionate. My experience was of the same day emergency centre and ED traige and I felt listened to and well cared for. Thank you all

Review titled Excellent Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Judith Ann Harrison - Posted on 05 February 2023
I was brought in by ambulance from Westmorland General with extremely high blood pressure. I was triaged quickly and then had a brain scan. I was the taken to a cubicle and during the next few hours had various tests, medication to try to lower my blood pressure, and the scan results. At all times the staff were courteous and caring, including bringing a cup of tea both for my daughter-in-law and myself. I was visited by two doctors who explained the problem which was preventing me from being discharged. Finally the doctors were happy and I was able to leave, at ten past ten. I should like to express my particular thanks to Dr Julia Marshall for taking the time to talk to me and explain the problems. I was delighted with my care.
