Review titled Amazing team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Faye - Posted on 05 October 2024
I can not compliment the people who looked after me enough. From the surgical team, anesthesiologists, nurses and health care workers. Everyone was so kind and patient and made an uncomfortable experience into a really positive one. Every single person was so empathetic from making me laugh to calming me down when I was a little paniced. They all deserve recognition for how wonderful the service was. They were all absolute gems.

Review titled A & E facilities
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Scott - Posted on 11 October 2024
Attended A & E. Very poor facilities. Room very narrow, access between seats very small. Very limited space for wheelchairs, difficult for patients in wheelchair and their helper to move or find suitable space to wait. Only one disabled toilet which was out of order. Only two toilet cublices i.e one for men and one for women this is totally unsuitable for number of patients. Vending machine not working and a long walk to cafe you cannot leave to go to cafe as you could miss your name being called, and because of this one patient arranged a mcdonalds delivery. A & E space is far too small, restrictive space and poor facilities. If you enter hospital near to St Pauls the space is extensive and under used. Overall experience is very poor

Review titled Acute Cardiac Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 October 2024
A huge thank you to the whole team that looked after our family member who was admitted with a previously undiagnosed cardiac condition. Everyone that we encountered, be they a doctor, cleaner, health. care assistant, nurse or delivering refreshments, were kind caring, patient and compassionate. We are sincerely grateful for the care received.

Review titled Poor facilities A & E
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Car - Posted on 12 October 2024
Attended A & E. Parking Q park too far away if you are ill or in pain to park this far away is negligent, staff car park is very close. Why staff cannot park at Q park and patient use the current staff car park is incredulous . A & E waiting room very small to accomodate numbers of patients . Extremely limited wheelchair space. Very small places between seats, patients having to negotiate around seats and extremley difficult with restricted mobility - accident waiting to happen. Two toilet cublices 1 booth for men and 1 for women, very poor. If a patient is taking a long in toilet this causes extreme discomfort to those waiting and taking up space whilst patients waiting outside - very unhygenic not to mention the physical and mental stress on those waiting. Disabled not working so those patients having to maneovre into normal size toilet. Vending machine out of order no other vending machine room therefore patients left unable to obtain food etc. Cafe and other shop too far away and you are frightened to move in you miss your turn or your seat is taken, again elderly , disabled and those with restricted movement are disadvanted , discriminated and their needs not considered.

Review titled Professional and caring staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dave Marsden - Posted on 10 October 2024
First time using the new Royal Hospital since it opened, arrived for surgery on the 3rd Oct and was very satisfied with how organised everything was, the procedure was explained several times to ensure I understood everything before surgery. Post surgery I awoke in 5D and I cannot thank all of the staff enough for everything that was done for me during the following 6 days I remained in hospital, All the staff(including the students) demonstrated a standard of professionalism I did not expect as well as an openly friendly side willing to pass a minute asking how I was or did I need anything. I want to thank the nursing staff especially who looked after me at my lowest, but also the domestic staff wether it was my room cleaner always with a pleasant smile, the catering staff who looked after my dietary requirements and the Physio staff who ensured I was capable of getting around unaided. If I've missed anyone I wish to thank you all again now. The professionalism and compassion given to me by the staff on 5D after my surgery will stay with me forever and I hope the staff who looked after me personally now that. Dave Marsden

Review titled Urology Department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dave Edwards - Posted on 05 September 2024
I attended my follow up Urology appointed today, at The Royal Liverpool Hospital. I was seen on time by my Consultant. He explained everything about my care with compassion and understanding. He was very friendly and quickly put me at ease. I was made to feel special and that my treatment matters greatly to him. I would say to anyone referred to their department, that the treatment you receive will be exemplary and you are in the best place for care and compassion.

I had a colonoscopy earlier this week on Wednesday afternoon, desite being an anxious type of person, I was put at ease by very nice and friendly staff. They went about their duties in a very professional manner. I cannot speak too highly of the hospital and felt fine the following day. Once again thanks to all the staff, keep up the good work.
