My experience of thyroid surgery at the Royal Liverpool Hospital was excellent. Thanks to the surgical team, anaesthetists, recovery room nurses and day ward nursing staff. Everything ran very efficiently and I felt safe and well cared for. The staff were kind and compassionate making sure that I was fully informed, comfortable and not in pain.

Review titled Pain
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Alan Stockton - Posted on 29 January 2024
Went to walkin on sat morning with Extreme ear pain , told to get an appointment at ent broad green, given phone number which phoned numerous times No answers, left messages no reply. Went to ent department was informed that I need a appointment, could not get one there. Tried the website, if you don't have a referral from a doctor it is nigh on Impossible to make an appointment of your own, I am at my wits end with this, it is ridiculous, there should at least be a walk-in facility, I am disgusted how this is allowed to happen, so much for " Open to all

Review titled terrible

got to a&e about 1:30am was seen relatively soon only a hour wait to be triaged which is shocking as it was for chest pains and vomiting, bloods taken and told that they would take 2 hours and we would seen a doctor in about 10 hours. as it was late asked for a blanket and told to go outside and try and find one, as we could we were told that ‘she would keep a eye out for one’ been here 4 hours and chest pains are getting worse and the care staff and uncaring and the waiting room is a mess with blood soak tissues in the floor, spills, no toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap.

I attended a&e following a burns accident on 30.10.23 and can’t thank the staff enough for their caring, kind and quick response. A&E was so busy and the staff were very overwhelmed but handled it with ease. Thank you!

Review titled Walk in phlebotomy reception
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 October 2023
Went to the walk in phlebotomy reception and said I'm here for venepuncture. They told me to go to the walk in center, so i repeated I'm here for venepuncture and was then told to go to accident and emergency. I had to say I'm here for 'bloods' before they understood. How can phlebotomy receptionists not know what venepuncture is.

Our appointment was at 10:30am and we didn’t get seen till 12:45pm nurse didn’t speak to us as they thought we was with another patient and I had to go and ask the nurse what was happening to our appointment, one doctor came out of his office looked in draw saw that my friend’s paperwork was still in draw spoken to another doctor that was sat in office on playing on his phone and said what do you want me to do! I am totally disappointed with this attitude and for nobody to as sorry we are running late or anything there was no water station available and it was hot where we was sitting

Review titled Bad System
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 September 2023
Nothing to say about the staff and nurses who did their job very well, my complaint is about the system, in the new hospital there are 160 fewer beds, A&E is too small to accommodate the many people coming for treatment. I spent 27 hours sitting on a chair because there was no bed.
