Review titled Fab
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Natalie Baney - Posted on 30 April 2023
I had to visit MAU whilst I was visiting family. I called up before I went to check I could go. The person who answered the phone was very friendly and reassuring. When I arrived the ward clerk was very patient trying to register me as I was out of area. Al of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. They really made me feel relaxed and put my mind at ease. The hospital itself was very clean and very signposted. Thank you to the staff at MAU

Review titled Superb Palliative Care in the community
Rated 3 stars out of 5

The NHS palliative care team provided excellent care to my Dad and our family during the last couple of weeks of his life. They were truly caring and treated us all with respect. They deserve a huge thank you from us for their hard work and commitment to what they do. The Royal Stoke hospital should be proud of this excellent team as they provide an essential service to families. They deserve better pay and working conditions - please do this.

Review titled Great service- A and E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen Spencer - Posted on 02 April 2023
I attended the A&E dept today - I found all of the staff I encountered to be totally amazing. Special thanks go to the lovely Dr who dealt with me. He was friendly professional and concise with relevant information and I felt completely at ease at all times. Also a mention for the chap in the XRay Dept who was a complete ray of sunshine. I know that patients can be quick to complain about wait times etc but I just saw an efficient team working hard. Well done to all.

Review titled Excellent care

My mum on the 31st March was taken to A&E/Majors by ambulance, the care and support she, myself and brother received from the nurse practitioner on duty was outstanding, can’t thank her enough for realising my mum’s anxiety, she listened to everything we said and acted professionally in getting it sorted quickly and getting my mum discharged. Hopefully mum will get the continued support from her GP she so deserves to continue with a better quality of life. Big thank you to all the District nurses out there who attend mum daily administering insulin as well.

Review titled Amazing Midwives
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Courtney - Posted on 12 March 2023
Myself and my partner stayed in the forget-me-not suit as I was being induced to have my stillborn baby. The midwives were absolutely amazing and I honestly could not have got through those few days without their support. We had 1:1 care, at times we had a midwife and a student to ourselves and nothing was too much. Anything we needed they were there, they went above and beyond for us and our baby. I have dealt with midwives at other hospitals during this pregnancy and I can honestly say we never came across care like we had during our stay at Stoke. These midwives are a true credit to the hospital and genuinely changed our entire experience.

Review titled A team to be proud of
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tim Mullen - Posted on 17 February 2023
I have recently had an extended stay in Ward 111, and it is impossible to praise the staff highly enough. Every minute I was there I was made to feel welcome by staff who, although busy, never gave you the feeling of being rushed. My complex needs were considered at every stage and suggestions willingly taken on board. A team is only as good as its leadership and this team was outstandingly led. Everyone should be extremely proud of the job they do and the commitment they show. Congratulations and thanks to everybody.

Review titled New system for Ambulatory Emergency Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Valerie Cross - Posted on 16 February 2023
Went to A & E expecting to be there for many hours, however they have a new system which I knew nothing about, The Ambulatory Emergency Care system. For me and many patients I saw there it worked brilliantly. From entering Hospital to leaving the system was well handled and staff were brilliant. From entering to leaving 4 hours, this included 3 separate tests and seeing a Doctor twice. High praise well done.

Had to attend a+e on New Year’s Day. Despite the current pressures on the nhs, I was seen promptly, all investigations were carried out and the appropriate treatment given. All staff were professional, caring and efficient. I arrived at 7am and was home for 12 midday. Thank you for you prompt care and the kindness shown by all.
