Review titled Great communication by FY1
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hugh Logan Ellis - Posted on 16 February 2025
I just want to commend the F1 on call for acute medicine/ geriatrics tonight 16th February (I can't leave a name in this review but her first name begins with H) and the set up which made it so easy to call her. She communicated very well, knew all the details of my grandfather's presentation, and was exemplary. Please pass this onto her so she can use it in her portfolio. Thank you

Review titled Positive Care
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Lady who works on maternity department for vaccinations. Is very gentle, thorough and very chatty. Her care is beyond lovely to see and I have had vaccinations off her multiple times and her presence is always the same. When attending with my son, she speaks to him, talks to me about the vaccinations and shows me the box, continuously talks to make you feel comfortable in the room. It 100% rare to see so kind and courageous individuals like her around and truly believe it should be appreciated.

Review titled Amazing staff

I had to attend A&E this morning and felt compelled to write a review on the most incredible staff. A&E is never a place you want to find yourself, but this morning, I didn’t have a choice as I was so unwell. The expected wait time said 3-4 hours on screen but I was seen within less than 15 mins for triage. I was immediately sent for various tests and the entire time the staff were so polite, reassuring and professional. I was seen and able to go back home within 3 hours in total, and I’m so grateful to the staff for looking after me so well.

Review titled Fantastic Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Russ Burton - Posted on 17 February 2025
We attended Hospital with our daughter and were immediately directed by lovely reception staff in Accident and Emergency Reception to Pediatrics. What a fantastic, clean and safe area for children to be. The staff immediately greeted us and helped calm any worries of our child. The staffing team were nothing short of fabulous, it's sad to see the posters about people abusing these staff when they are all genuinely amazing! From student nurses relating to fun of our daughters favorite pop star to a doctor who had the most receptive and brilliant beside manner. Our daughter was genuinely at ease and her condition diagnosed within a short time frame. The department was moderately busy at the time, however this had little to no effect on the great attitude of the staff through our time there. Please express our gratitude to your amazing, friendly and exceptional team in the pediatric department and the wonderful environment that this creates at times of panic for us parents.

Review titled Pharmacy service and OTSEc directions
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by John Dabill - Posted on 03 February 2025
The pharmacy service is awful. Waiting over an hour for medication as a cancer patient is ridiculous. I was told waiting time would be an hour i left the hospital to minimise exposure as a cancer patient. As it was it took nearly one hour and 20 minutes leaving me no choice but to remain in the hospital waiting in a corridor with hundreds of people passing and with a weakened immune system. Even the nurse who saw me in Oncology prescribed the drugs passed me and was surprised I had been left in this situation. I notice pharmacy isn't even listed as a department in the lista of this form On a related matter please advice the Otsec accute. Oncology to stop directing people to Otsec which is not on any signs and most hospital staff I asked had no heard of it. Instead ask them to direct patients to AMU which is on the hospital navigation signs. It is again ridiculous to have cancer patients wandering around looking for somewhere that is not even signposted. Luckily the wonderful receptionist did know where it was and she was the one that directed me to amu.

Review titled Amazing staff

My dad came in with pneumonia and los potassium on Monday, managed to burst his spleen by coughing! So had to undergo emergency surgery. The staff in ICU were incredible, despite being super busy they made my dad feel comfortable, I felt welcome every time I visited, they were caring and attentive. The consultant even shook my hand and everyone always introduced themselves and gave me a run down on what was happening with my dad. They'd always go out of their way to get me a chair (which I of course was happy to get myself). They were informed and always had a positive manner. Even putting up with my dad's jokes and stubbornness/independence. My dad means the absolute world to me and I have had the worst few months so knowing he was in safe hands was so reassuring. You all deserve a massive break and I am just so grateful. Everyone is wards was the same too. I just can't thank you all enough.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Admitted to the surgical day unit today for elective foot surgery. The whole process was smooth running. As a retired member of staff, it is easier for me as I known the routine (in Theatres!) but the staff took nothing for granted and ensured I was aware of the process thro' the Unit. More importantly I saw how the Staff interacted with other patients ,and what the patients' said out of the nurses earshot. It was all very positive stuff . Well done and thank you to the ward, recovery and theatre staff. The Surgeon and Anaesthetist were exceptional too. Please pass on the comments to the staff on duty today, 4th Feb, and to the theatre 2 staff . Many thanks

Please pass on my thanks to the nurse in A&E who guided me through the process when I self referred this morning. I think I left without adequately doing so myself. The service was excellent, as it was on the one previous occasion. Patrick Mannix, 17 Feb 1943
