  1. Review titled Couldn’t fault the treatment received

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Neil - Posted on 05 September 2024

We would like to thank the lady doctor we saw in the eye department today. Shame we can’t add her name, the news she had to deliver was difficult and she did it with care and empathy before referring on to a London hospital Thank you Royal Surrey eye department and the doctor concerned I hope you work out who to credit with our thanks

I would to say a huge thank you to the staff in orthopaedics when myself and my resident who has advanced dementia were left stranded due to transport, they were rallying round to see her something to eat/drink and also trying to get us home as quickly as possible. Thank you so much again 💓

  3. Review titled Wonderful Phlebotomy Team

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Despite being incredibly busy on Monday 2 September, the team of 3 phlebotomists were so kind to my daughter who suffered from low blood pressure and low oxygen levels following her blood test. Everyone was friendly and patient (especially considering the clinic was overwhelmed and staff were stressed) - arranging transfer to A&E and making sure there was a hypo kit available (my daughter has Type 1 diabetes). Must also mention the lovely staff in Paediatric A&E who were thorough, good humoured and speedy! Thank you to everyone.

  5. Review titled Sleep Therapy Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jeremy - Posted on 16 September 2024

Although naturally somewhat sceptical of the benefits at the start of the programme, there were several improvements in my overall sleep pattern over the length of the treatment. There were a number of useful and easily adopted techniques to add my sleeping. It makes you think about what works for you and can be included in you sleep preparation.

I would like to thank Nurse L**a who I saw at the start and end of my ECG monitor treatment. What a lovely lady, who took the time to speak to me as an individual and made me feel extremely relaxed and looked after. An asset to the hospital and the department! Made me feel unique and welcome and remembered me on return. Thank you - if I’m about again I’ll always “pop in” and say “hello” - the cat lady xx

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Consultant and the team at the Ear Nose and Throat department during my visit today. You were all so welcoming, friendly and caring - from the wonderful man that checked me in to the amazing consultant, whose advice, care and support was outstanding. Thank you so much to you all. I wanted to name you all but am not allowed to in my review. Hopefully you will know who you are.

Rated 1 star out of 5

My brother aged 34 was in the coronary care unit for a week as his heart kept stopping and drs were not sure why, after said week he was sent home with the instructions “if it happens again come back” and wait for a specialist hospital to contact you. A week later, still nothing and the wards answer is that the drs are on holiday!!! The system is broken!

  9. Review titled Excellent A&E service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dr Mike Cope - Posted on 05 September 2024

I brought a friend to Royal Surrey A and E on Tues 27/8/24. She had fallen during a walk (on a tarmac road) and there was a wound under her chin and it seemed like the jaw may have been fractured. It took only 10 minutes to get her details recorded by reception, she was triaged 10 minutes later by a nurse who administered some first aid and cleaned up the wound . A doctor saw her 10 mins later to assess her condition and then 10 minutes after that we saw the male nursing assistant who performed a number of tests on my friend: check vision at peripherals, check hearing, check sense of smell, check to see if she could bite on a wooden spatula. He concluded she had no jaw fracture and put sutures and some medical glue on the chin wound. He also identified a pain in her neck and suggested she have a ct scan to check if there were any issues. We got a ct scan 15 mins later and then waited for 1 hour for the results. My friend was discharged at 8:30pm , 3 hours after she was admitted. The service was excellent and first rate and I would like to thank the male nurse -who did the final checks on her. The A and E department at Royal Surrey is exceptionally good and I wanted to pass on my thanks. (Note I have taken other friends to St Peters and the care I received there was extremely poor and the waiting times were 11 hours). So Royal Surrey is exceptionally good in comparison . Please pass on these comments to the staff in A and E. Thanks again. Mike Cope

  10. Review titled Insomnia service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Some useful help given over time in a very understanding and caring way from the Insomnia Service. Tools for an improved sleep - more advanced than a milky drink and no screens. This has really helped and I now have improved sleep. Thank you.
