  1. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Maureen Burns - Posted on 21 August 2024

My husband and I arrived in Surrey from Gateshead on 9th August and within about 4hours he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The next day he had emergency surgery and was discharged the next day. We came home two days later. I just want to thank all the staff in the hospital including the paramedics who were amazing and I would recommend your hospital to anyone. He is fine now and that is down to the care he received. Once again a massive thank you.

  2. Review titled Day surgery Unit

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2024

I thought the unit was very well run, great nursing team. Excellent consultant and anaesthetist. In and out in the morning after surgery with easy discharge. My only criticism they put my estimated weight on the discharge letter nearly 3 stone heavier than I am!!

Had small hiccup during chemo which required some physiotherapy. Had really fantastic advice for now and for the future and incredibly caring, sympathetic and helpful team member considering my current situation.

  5. Review titled Great service in Pathology

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James Dowle - Posted on 22 August 2024

I had a repeat sample test for Pathology booked in. My GP, who I have logged a separate complaint with, gave me the wrong sample pot despite me saying it didn’t look right. I trusted the GP practise but this was in fact the wrong pot and couldn’t be tested. I can’t remember her name but the woman in Pathology who I saw before was brilliant. I felt awful as it had also wasted her time but she was great , she has provided me the correct sample pot for a re test and booked me in. She was very reassuring and really nice about everything considering it was also wasting her time. Just wanted to recognise the great service off the back of an error at another site.

  6. Review titled Atrocious

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mark Jones - Posted on 29 August 2024

I waited several months for a cardio monitor test, because I have heart block, but my experience was incredibly disappointing. I was in the room for only 30 seconds, and the machine fell off. The staff were unprofessional, and the equipment felt antiquated. It was clear that the staff lacked motivation, and a trainee was left to fit machine without proper guidance. When I complained to the administration, I was met with a sarcastic laugh, which I recorded. This is unacceptable. Overall, this experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this facility.

  8. Review titled Thank you to those in A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kara - Posted on 26 August 2024

I had to visit A&E due to a scratch to the eye. All of the staff I encountered, from booking in, having my blood pressure taken, seeing the triage nurse and the nurse, were accommodating. They were all friendly and helpful and did it all with a smile. Thank you so much for looking after me

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to thank ENT Registrar and SHO on the 15/07/24 on Clandon ward to remove my fish bone. They were so professional and although it was traumatic they managed to remove the bone under LA. Thank you so much you are both a credit to your medical profession.

  10. Review titled Very impressed with the staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Elliott - Posted on 13 July 2024

This isn’t a review about my experience as such, but about 2 members of staff that stood out on the ward I was on. There was a gentlemen opposite me who clearly had some kind of dementia and I was watching and listening to the two staff members interact with him. One sat there talking to him about his life etc for ages and handled it so well, she was younger and I think perhaps in training. It was so nice of her to keep him company and you could see he was happy to be talking to someone as he was laughing away. The second needed to take his blood pressure and he was getting a bit muddled but she preserved and engaged with him fantastically. The care that all the members of staff provided him over the few days I was at RSCH was always excellent, but these two stood out in my eyes and deserve some kind of recognition for it! I’ve got a family member who is a nursing home with dementia and it’s exhausting at times, but it was so refreshing to see people willing to engage and care. I won’t mention names as it asks you not too but this was on Clandon Ward in the morning of 13th July 2024 - hopefully someone will read this review who knows who the two ladies were!
