Review titled ECG Nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 September 2024
I would like to thank Nurse L**a who I saw at the start and end of my ECG monitor treatment. What a lovely lady, who took the time to speak to me as an individual and made me feel extremely relaxed and looked after. An asset to the hospital and the department! Made me feel unique and welcome and remembered me on return. Thank you - if I’m about again I’ll always “pop in” and say “hello” - the cat lady xx

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Consultant and the team at the Ear Nose and Throat department during my visit today. You were all so welcoming, friendly and caring - from the wonderful man that checked me in to the amazing consultant, whose advice, care and support was outstanding. Thank you so much to you all. I wanted to name you all but am not allowed to in my review. Hopefully you will know who you are.

Review titled Shocking!

My brother aged 34 was in the coronary care unit for a week as his heart kept stopping and drs were not sure why, after said week he was sent home with the instructions “if it happens again come back” and wait for a specialist hospital to contact you. A week later, still nothing and the wards answer is that the drs are on holiday!!! The system is broken!

Review titled Excellent A&E service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dr Mike Cope - Posted on 05 September 2024
I brought a friend to Royal Surrey A and E on Tues 27/8/24. She had fallen during a walk (on a tarmac road) and there was a wound under her chin and it seemed like the jaw may have been fractured. It took only 10 minutes to get her details recorded by reception, she was triaged 10 minutes later by a nurse who administered some first aid and cleaned up the wound . A doctor saw her 10 mins later to assess her condition and then 10 minutes after that we saw the male nursing assistant who performed a number of tests on my friend: check vision at peripherals, check hearing, check sense of smell, check to see if she could bite on a wooden spatula. He concluded she had no jaw fracture and put sutures and some medical glue on the chin wound. He also identified a pain in her neck and suggested she have a ct scan to check if there were any issues. We got a ct scan 15 mins later and then waited for 1 hour for the results. My friend was discharged at 8:30pm , 3 hours after she was admitted. The service was excellent and first rate and I would like to thank the male nurse -who did the final checks on her. The A and E department at Royal Surrey is exceptionally good and I wanted to pass on my thanks. (Note I have taken other friends to St Peters and the care I received there was extremely poor and the waiting times were 11 hours). So Royal Surrey is exceptionally good in comparison . Please pass on these comments to the staff in A and E. Thanks again. Mike Cope

I had an appointment with a Dr on the 15th August 2024, to review my symptoms. I want to say what a lovely, caring Doctor. He was so sincere and genuinely asked how I was. I felt he listened to me and understood what I was going through. So I wanted to say a massive thank you to him and wish him good luck with the rest of his career.

Review titled Insomnia service

Some useful help given over time in a very understanding and caring way from the Insomnia Service. Tools for an improved sleep - more advanced than a milky drink and no screens. This has really helped and I now have improved sleep. Thank you.

Review titled Autistic patient failed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andy - Posted on 30 August 2024
I chose the Royal Surrey as an out of area patient due to many issues at many of the hospitals in my area who are atrocious at providing for and understanding the needs of autistic patients. I had hoped for different at the Royal Surrey considering its good reputation. I travelled 200 miles for a mid morning urology appointment, which for someone who is autistic, disabled and has chronic illness was a massive undertaking and this took everything out of me. The hospital were aware of the distance involved and my autism. I received a telephone call about an hour before my appointment when I was 10 miles from the hospital informing me that my appointment had been cancelled and could I make it on Friday instead. Obviously this was not possible. Absolute no consideration for the needs of patients who are impaired and have neurodiversity. An alarming lack of understanding and awareness. An egregious lack of responsiveness and flexibility and overall grotesquely incompetent management of the urology department. Autistic patients have a right to expect that the NHS take their needs seriously and respond flexibly and appropriately to the problems caused by the hospital when they have the capacity to significantly affect the access to healthcare of autistic people and their health and wellbeing. Abhorrent treatment of an autistic patient that goes beyond any comprehension.

I feel confident I am able to manage my Insomnia after finishing the course znd watch 5 videos. I realise it's very personal and if you don't try it you will not not if it's gonna work for you. I had a phone appointment for several months to treat my Insomnia, so my experience is from that ,not going to the hospital This review is not clear about patients treatment.
