  1. Review titled Very impressed with the staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Elliott - Posted on 13 July 2024

This isn’t a review about my experience as such, but about 2 members of staff that stood out on the ward I was on. There was a gentlemen opposite me who clearly had some kind of dementia and I was watching and listening to the two staff members interact with him. One sat there talking to him about his life etc for ages and handled it so well, she was younger and I think perhaps in training. It was so nice of her to keep him company and you could see he was happy to be talking to someone as he was laughing away. The second needed to take his blood pressure and he was getting a bit muddled but she preserved and engaged with him fantastically. The care that all the members of staff provided him over the few days I was at RSCH was always excellent, but these two stood out in my eyes and deserve some kind of recognition for it! I’ve got a family member who is a nursing home with dementia and it’s exhausting at times, but it was so refreshing to see people willing to engage and care. I won’t mention names as it asks you not too but this was on Clandon Ward in the morning of 13th July 2024 - hopefully someone will read this review who knows who the two ladies were!

I had to use A&E recently for an injury to my hand. From booking in to treatment and after care the service was superb. Communication was clear and detailed. I always knew what to expect. The treatment was so thorough and I wish to thank everybody there.

  3. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a pre operation visit today. I struggled a bit to find the correct location instructions were unclear. Many staff members approached me when they saw i was lost and directed me to where i needed to go without me having to ask. The staff in the department were friendly. The nurse that did my tests was wonderful, very friendly and helped to make me feel relaxed about the process. She was very good at drawing blood, my veins can be un-cooperative but there was no issue. I am sorry that due to your procedures i could not name her, she deserves a thank you. I want to bring to your attention that the hospital have wonderful staff throughout my many visits as a patient and a relative of a seriously unwell patient. I really hope the staff are appreciated by the management.

  4. Review titled Millbridge Ward - Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2024

I would just like to thank the staff on Milbridge Ward in the Royal Surrey for their kindness to me while I was a patient in the ward. The usual people were not around when I was discharged so was unable to thank them properly. They also coped with a very unwell and tricky patient (not me) with great care, understanding and compassion and I was very impressed with that.

  5. Review titled Exceptional care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the minor injuries department at Haslemere hospital this morning with my husband and I wanted to express my appreciation for the attention and kindness the receptionist on duty showed us. Her professionalism and care was exceptional not only to us but to every person that she booked in. I have worked in the health service for many years and know how difficult it can be sometimes to make every individual feel they are important. She exceeded every expectation. Please ensure this message is passed onto her. I wanted to speak to her before I left the department, but she was booking somebody in.

  6. Review titled Very professional and efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the Endoscopy Unit for a diagnostic gastroscopy. I can be an anxious patient and was being put under deep sedation due to this. All staff on the unit were incredibly friendly and willing to help in any way they could. Although there was some waiting around, staff were apologetic and reassuring which kept my nerves at ease. Everything was thoroughly explained to me, from the medication I would be administered, to how long I'd be in recovery etc. The procedure itself was very quick and easy, and I felt incredibly well cared for when I came around. I could not fault the Endoscopy unit/team in any way. Thank you for making it a good experience!

  8. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended A&E following a fall today. I was assessed within 5 minutes of arriving at the unit. Within 15 minutes I saw a Doctor. I was referred for blood tests and a CT scan both of which were done with the hour. I then saw another A&E doctor and had a further examination. Subsequently transferred to AEU for monitoring. Consultant assessed me and I was discharged after 6 hours. I am very grateful for the wonderful care. Thank you

  9. Review titled The best

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’d like to thank nuclear medicine, a little-known department which carries out essential work in administering radio isotopes to treat diseases and diagnose conditions. Their physicists are the best - kind, knowledgeable and professional. I can’t thank them enough for answering my spreadsheet of questions with patience and compassion. A zillion thanks - you made a huge difference while I was in hospital.

My wife and I recently had our new addition to the family born at Royal Surrey County Hospital. Throughout the entire journey, including at the Guildford Maternity Hub, we were treated with the highest level of service and respect. We were surrounded by the most warm hearted, kind and caring midwives and our experience exceeded our expectations. We are so thankful for these lovely people, and thank the NHS for their incredible staff. Truly phenomenal service delivery from incredible people.
