Review titled Brilliant heart attack care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Richard Burgess - Posted on 14 February 2024
I am so grateful for the services of 101, Ambulance, and Royal United Hospital. I had a heart attack at around 6.15am on a Monday. Calling 101 at 6.30am, once my family history was known, an ambulance was called on my behalf. Arriving approximately 6.45am, after two tests I was diagnosed with heart damage after a attack. Calling forwards to the Royal United Hospital, the A&E department were ready for my arrival at 8am. Immediately I was moved to cardiology, tested, and had a stent fitted. I arrived on the cardiac ward for recovery at 11.30am. At all stages I was kept aware of what was happening, and why. Every member of the NHS staff I had contact with were superb. I feel lucky and privileged to have had such excellent care, which continues with excellent weekly rehabilition sessions. Thank you.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ian Stewart - Posted on 05 November 2023
I was admitted on 31st October in A&E, assessed in triage, taken onto the ward in the Medical Assessment Unit / Direct Assessment Area where I stayed overnight. From start to finish everyone that attended to me were faultless in the care they gave me. Thanks to all that I had contact with, you were wonderful.

Came in following an accident. Seen rapidly by triage nurse and then sent to be treated. Lots of information provided. Shortage of nursing staff in the Majors dept.

Visited on a Sunday morning with my daughter who had hurt her arm. She was assessed, X rayed and treated in around 2.5 hours which I thought was really reasonable. All staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Celia Berry - Posted on 30 October 2023
The consultant and nurses were very kind, considerate and helpful. Everyone was excellent, and listened to me. The staff listened to my needs and preferences. Everyone treated me with compassion. I am disabled, and a nurse helped me to dress, and put on my socks and shoes, as if it was no trouble to her at all. I don't think anything could be improved.

Review titled Great care

Referred by 111 to A&E walk-in. Once called in for assessment in my turn, everything happened quickly & efficiently. Following initial treatment, a full series of tests were undertaken by a doctor and once results had been obtained further treatment was proposed. Refreshments even provided for myself and my 'driver'. Sent home with everything needed, but preparations had been put in hand in case any test showed that an overnight admission was necessary. Wonderful care, thank you.

Review titled Brilliant service

After being urgently referred by my optician on Saturday the hospital telephoned me on Monday with an appointment for Tuesday. This was a very quick response and surprising given the amount of patients they have to deal with. From entering the waiting room which was quite busy I expected there to be a delay but everyone seem to move quickly. I was assessed and then various tests carried out, then on to see the eye doctor for a review. All the staff were very kind and showed attention to me and explained the process. This kindness was apparent when seeing other patients put at ease as well. I then had blood tests where the nurse was more than helpful. I feel the time and care shown to all of us would make this hospital a first choice for patient care.

Wonderful staff in M.a.u. then moved to S.s.m. Staff across both departments are caring, reasuring, confident and you as a patient with care and dignity. The Hospital is also so clean, I was so impressed. The Consultant was lovely and all levels of staff I met treated me respect, care and understanding. I rate this hospital as the top in standards. Thankyou all so much.
