Review titled Sensory room
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 January 2023
Arrived in on ambulance with my client who has got autism. Doesn't usually attend hospital due to unable to due to needs. Usually has home visits. But unfortunately had to this time. We was put straight into the sensory room on arrival this automatically made his visit to hospital calmer due to the lights to help relax and reduce anxiety of being in an unformiler place. Thank you for making this room feel so much more relaxing. To help start of the visit to get better.

Review titled 12+ hr wait time in children ed
Rated 1 star out of 5

We had to wait over 7hrs and still waiting at the time of this review. Our is 4 days old discharged from maternity and our baby had Jaundice and maternity didn’t want anything to do with us despite them sending us away after 3 days recovery. Only two doctors on no communication. You give the NHS a bad name your staff should be ashamed

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback about your experience at our hospital in the Maternity Department/Paediatric Emergency Department. We are disappointed to hear about your negative experience while you were in our care. It is difficult to comment on your specific case without your details and reviewing your baby’s medical notes but we would welcome the opportunity to look into the concerns you have raised and hopefully resolve some of these issues for you. If you would like us to do this, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on free phone 0800 073 0510 or email dgft.pals@nhs.net who will assist you further. Best wishes, Patient Experience Team

Review titled Amazing service under tremendous pressure
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 December 2022
Sent via 111 for my 6 year old grandson. It was queuing out the door and stretched to the limit. All staff without exception under great pressure but all put a smile on their faces and we’re doing above and beyond their best. The child was seen within 3 hours by a caring through doctor who diagnosed Scarlett fever. Croup and tonsillitis. People turning up and moaning after waiting an hour and not being patient or polite. May I say a massive thank you to all the nhs emergency staff for their help and guidance under pressure like I have never seen in my life. Well done keep smiling it will get better

Review titled Lovely staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by N Moody - Posted on 22 December 2022
I spent 5 hours in Emergency care yesterday and it was incredibly busy. All staff from reception to cleaners and doctors and nurses were nothing but lovely and supportive despite what was clearly a, close to, unmanageable workload. Just wanted to say thank you.

Review titled Left alone without communication pre-induction
by Forever pregnant it seems! - Posted on 04 January 2023
I am currently a patient on your maternity ward. I was booked in to start a induction at the start of December. Little did I know what was ahead. I am a high risk patient having gestational diabetes and have been monitored very well all the way to this point. I got told it was priority I had my baby early due to the size and extra water surrounding my baby. I have now been in for 4 days and the care has been so poor. I am being left alone for 8 hours at a time, shut in a room alone. No one is checking on my blood sugar levels at all. I had high ketones when I was admitted, this hasn't been checked since. There is little if no communication between the midwives and myself. I am getting irritated and distressed hour by hour and no-one seems to even know I'm here. I have a young son at home I'm being kept from unfairly. I just can't get in my head why they would admit me for induction yet to me they didn't seem to have staff to deal with me. That was an initial 24 hours totally wasted. I feel I would be a lot better off and much more active if I was at home than sat rocking in an empty side room. I really feel your procedures looking at.

Review titled Reassuring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nicola - Posted on 01 January 2023
I had cataract surgery & was extremely nervous. However, the staff in the Opthalmology department were brilliant. From the nurses to the anaesthetist to the surgeon. All were friendly, explained everything & answered any questions I had. I had my procedure done early & so no hanging around & I was made a lovely cup of tea afterwards. I felt it was a very positive & reassuring experience.
