The care received by the Nurse Practitioner (L) on SDEC was outstanding. I was treated with person centred care, dignity and respect. At a very scary time he reassured me and he was kind and caring and explained everything throughly. Not all staff get the recognition they deserve but he truly deserves it. My treatment was met with the urgency it required by both L and A the consultant. They both made a very difficult visit as comfortable as possible. I was included in all of my care and it was explained to me throughout. The registrar was very professional and he explained everything and I felt like he really cared about the situation.

Went to wrong window by mistake wasn’t busy was on the morning at 8.30 on 17/5/2024 and she rolled her eyes at me and muttered for god f sake under breath so disgusting in wrong job if she going to be rude because patience going to desk to book in very uncalled for she had brown pony tall with a pink scrunchie in it and very rude

This department is brilliant all the staff are friendly helpful welcoming. The consultant was so thorough and gave account of everything my husband and I came out knowing exactly where we stand. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

I attended the Endoscopy Unit for an examination in May 2024. All aspects of the visit were handled with outstanding professionalism and clear communication about what was being done. Firstly the documentation which I had received to inform me and brief me for the visit was clear. Secondly I was received at exactly my appointment time at Russell Hall and taken to a room by a nurse to confirm my medical position and for me to understand what was going to happen in the visit. Having changed for the procedure I met the excellent team of three in the sigmoidoscopy unit. The lead nurse/ endoscopist was already briefed on my position but we went through the background again to ensure absolute clarity and at the same time I was informed of the details of the procedure. Any questions and concerns that I had were answered completely and I was guided into position. The procedure was then performed by the team and at all stages I was fully informed and at the same time engaging in other conversations with the friendly and clearly committed team. At the end of the session, again completed on time, I was given a verbal summary of the results and likely further action. Having finished, I changed back to my normal clothes and another professional took me through a summary of the sigmoidoscopy report. I left the department feeling that I had been excellently treated in all aspects and that the professionalism was outstanding. In summary Ten out of Ten!! On a final negative note, I thought that the car parking was terrible (not enough spaces), but I suspect you already know that!

A big thank you to the consultant and staff who looked after me on the gynaecology department for their outstanding service and support carried out upon my arrival from start to finish. The operation has been a success and now on the full mend and pain and discomfort has gone. I was kept in overnight for a full recovery and patient transport was arranged for me to get back home. Again they collected me from the ward and took me right to the front door. Hope everything continues forward for your service given.

I went in for day surgery and it went like clockwork. The staff were amazing and my care was so professional. The constant checking and calling me by my name made me feel as though I was being really well looked after. So, thank you everyone who works for our amazing NHS.

I stayed in b5 for almost two weeks as I had severe abdominal pain and to be honest, before I came to hospital, I really badly did not want to come as I was worried that I might get treated badly and I dislike needles, loud noises, being touched etc. But my family had called 111 who had called the ambulance team to take me as I also had some other symptoms and simple pain relief was not helping. From the moment I came in to the emergency department and then b5, I felt the staff did all they could to ease my pain and find answers. I am very grateful that most of the nurses and health care assistants were very patient and kind to me as there were times that I had gotten very overwhelmed and I found it difficult to move around and talk because of my pain. They motivated and helped me to become independent again. Thank you. I hope I will not need to come back but it is comforting to know that if I do need to come back, I will be in good hands.

I would like to thank all the staff on my day surgery. The nurses were so kind especially the matron. The ward was so well run and had a calming atmosphere.

I would like to thank the orthodontic surgeon and the excellent maxillofacial team. They have been absolutely amazing in caring for me after having a wisdom tooth removed when I began getting complications. Nothing is too much trouble and I was kept informed of everything that they would be doing and why. I felt listened to and cared for and wanted to say thanks. What a credit to the NHS
