Absolutely fantastic service. Efficient and knowledgeable. Able to put my son at ease throughout whole time there. Would recommend this service to everyone. So handy knowing we have it within South Shields as gives us parents peace of mind

I was admitted to South Tyneside hospital with a lung infection and spent a week there. The treatment was first class. I was particularly impressed with the dedication, kindness and professionalism of the nursing staff who were working under intense pressure. It was a privilege to see how they coped despite all the pressures on the NHS. Other staff including cleaning staff, porters and medical staff were equally wonderful. They all should be commended on their dedication and I thank them all for the wonderful treatment I received.

I went in for my daughter who had a bad chest. They were amazing with her (she was 6 months at the time)

Went to children’s accident and emergency was seen instantly at the first desk gave a brief explanation of the problem for my son was then sent to wait in the waiting area was called straight in pretty much to get his oxygen levels etc checked, then back to waiting room waited around 20 mins then seen and issue was looked over and resolved very quick and efficient service

My son was hurt during a get together at inflatanation. He was unable to use his fingers and his hand was very swollen. The nurses in the children's A&E were extremely busy on the day we arrived but I found each and every one of them to be polite, caring and took time to speak with my child to help reduce his anxiety over what was to come. The care he received was of a high standard and following and x-ray we were dismissed and given clear instruction for aftercare. The staff in this area of the hospital are fantastic. We are very lucky to have the A&E in South Shields, as it it close to get to for those without their own travel .

Been to a & e tonight. Was in minor injuries for 3 hours, waiting room was really busy. Doctor sat in his office and managed to see 2 people in 3 hours. At 10pm after a 3 hour wait we were all told to go to the main a & e. The wait was 4 hours. I asked where we would go in queue as already waited 3 hours was advised we would start again from bottom of the list. Absolute joke.

The most vital and amazing service possible. The staff were incredible, friendly and resolved my child's problem quickly. However it was something they needed urgently and if we had to travel to Sunderland I don't know how much worse the situation would have been. Thank you to all the staff at South tyneside children's urgent care

Beig autistic the confusion of change and people and light makes it virtually impossible to go anywhere but the staff on the first floor surgical day unit made arrangements for me when I arrived they dimmed or turned off all lights in ward and put up with my meltdowns and confusion amazing .so I am genuinely sorry for any inconvenience . Friendly and great care .

My mother had to attend A&E plus ambulatory care unit and she wanted me to express how she felt about her care Mam ( Mrs Coneley )had nothing but praise for all the staff, the care and respect she received over the several days she had to attend So thank you so much South Shields from her and her family

I became ill in South Shields and attended South Tyneside Accident and Emergency. Although the department was busy and therefore the wait was quite long the treatment I received was excellent, from triage to the nurse taking blood and doing an ecg to the doctor who was absolutely brilliant. I felt that all the investigations carried out were thorough and explanations were clear and understandable. I was treated very sympathetically and professionally.Thank you so much
