After being admitted to QA hospital I was given medication to ease my symptoms and was seen regularly by nurses/doctors etc making me as comfortable as possible and putting my mind at rest.The QA cardiology team were amazing throughout my time there and couldn't find fault in their treatment and professionalism. They kept me updated with progress and made a difficult time for me as bearable as it could be! Once transferred to Southampton the care I received at cardiology was equally fantastic. Looked after so well by all the staff from the initial ward to HDU (high care unit?) and finally to the surgery and the recovery in HDU. It felt like a production line but they all were working so hard to prioritise the more seriously ill patients and whilst my recovery was very painful it has been such an amazing feeling since. I have to thank both cardiology hospital depts for everything they have done for me. I had been suffering for over a year and whilst it took a long time to get there (complications with other issues) I have my life back and will be eternally grateful to the whole team(s). I hope they all realise just how much they have enhanced my life and future - I am back at work and living again ! My only gripe would be that they discharged me lunchtime a week later (no problem) but left me waiting 7 hrs for my meds in a chair in another room - still in loads of pain so unacceptable really. Should've had my meds ready sooner or let me rest in bed till they were ready - my partner checked the bed and there was no one in it all afternoon ! ! !

They saved my life. They were all kind, expert, reassuring and superbly professional. I cannot think of one way in which they were less than excellent.

My son was in A&E, the staff were so kind to him and looked after me too. Thank you for looking after him and helping me to feel less worried.
