Review titled Hospital anxiety.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by S. Lloyd - Posted on 16 March 2023
Any hospital visit has the potential to be stressful as for many it is an unnerving environment. Everyone I met was kind and helpful and the tests and procedures were carried out with efficiency and reassurance. The test results were clearly explained and I now have to summon up the courage to self administer daily injections ! The first will be the hardest despite clear instructions and a demonstration/ first dose. Many thanks to the kind and caring staff who go beyond ' just doing their job'. Hopefully they will be deservedly well rewarded for their wonderful work following the latest pay negotiations.

Review titled Rude receptionist at minor injuries unit.
Rated 1 star out of 5

While attending the minor injuries unit I was struggling how to exit the department. I pressed the green button and the receptionist was extremely rude shouting I need to stand back then very sarcastically said well they’re a huge sign that says it there. I appreciate ma y people might be able to see that however I did and if I did I have extremely bad dyslexia and therefore this comment made me feel inferior and like I was not welcome in the area due to a learning difficulty. Many other such as eal people with vision problems would have also took offence to this women’s rudeness. Please ensure staff have inclusivity training to ensure they do not make anyone feel inferior.

Review titled Compassionate care and efficiency
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 95 year old mother with advanced dementia was admitted to A and E with a fractured femur on a very busy Friday evening. The treatment she received was exemplary. I was amazed at the efficient and compassionate way all the members of staff behaved towards my mother who was very confused. She did not have to wait long to be seen, Xrayed and admitted to a ward. The operation took place less than 2 days later and she was discharged back to her care home in one week. I have nothing but the highest praise for the doctors, surgeons and nursing staff on the Trauma Assessment Unit and F 3. Thank you!

Last week I had an ultrasound guided steroid injection in my knee. The two staff were kind, informative and extremely professional and the procedure was almost completely painless. To top it all, I was back in the car only 15 minutes after my appointment time- brilliant! Thank you very much.

Review titled Excellent Care

I spent new years night there with my 3 year old son. Despite it being a busy night the Nurses and Doctors were so attentive. The nurses regularly came and spoke to my son and made us feel at ease. I can't say how much the care from the entire team meant. They were very consolatory and helped to me to feel less stress.

Review titled Great friendly service

After taking my daughter to the doctors the day before visiting to be told it was viral. Her breathing detoriated, I couldn't get through to my surgery so made the decision to go to A & E. Her temp wasn't coming down with calpol or nurofen and then her breathing laboured. On arriving at A &nE, we were greeted and signed in. The nurses taking obs were amazing and very patient. The triage nurse listened and helped with then early signs of dehydration. On seeing the doctor, she gave a very thorough check over even finding my daughter a teddy as she had soaked her baby with juice, which she was allowed to take home. To find she had an infection requiring antibiotics before it got worse. A great service. Thank you

Review titled Care of 85 year old Dementia patient
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Janette Bennett - Posted on 19 December 2022
I have been a nurse for 40 years and have always believed that nurses are kind caring people , and I still believe that to be true , but not in the case of nurses I met in the A&E department. They were unapproachable, reluctant to help with information about my mother , and had delivered poor care . Basic nursing care you would expect to be delivered from the onset was sadly lacking .On the positive thanks to the consultant I met who was kind ,compassionate and extremely helpful . My overall experience has filled me with extreme sadness . Thank goodness I was there for my mum ,sadly that’s not the case for everyone
