Review titled Incredibly kind staff.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by ALI - Posted on 15 November 2022
I cannot recommend Southampton General hospital enough (RSH too). They've looked after me on and off for many years due to a chronic spinal condition. I was offered an MRI within a few weeks of my Consultants request. Every Consultant, Nurse, HCA, receptionist looking after me, they are all wonderful, despite being under so much pressure, the care is incredible. Today (15/11/22) was my mri scan date and although I've had numerous mri scans previously, I felt anxious, maybe it's an age thing! I explained my anxieties to the lovely young gentleman who went through the check list with me and also to the radiographer, she was lovely too. They were both so kind. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and calm, allaying any fears I had. I was reassured throughout the 40 minutes or so, I was in the scanner. I was so relaxed, I nearly fell asleep! I left feeling thoroughly cared for. I'm no longer afraid for future mri's. All thanks to the time and kindness shared with me by two very special members of staff. Thank you to you both, sincerely, you are a credit to Radiology/Outpatients Imaging Suite. Every member of staff was so very lovely. The hospital is impeccably clean and an absolute credit to the NHS. You should all feel very proud, hold your heads high and know you are fabulous because you truly are. Xxx Warmest wishes Ali

One twin broke his leg. Male nurse was full of energy, patience and kindness with both boys. Advice and manner were superb. Amazing care and service. Shame I can’t name and identify him on here as I’d like to thank him.

Went into A &E because I could not urinate. Had to have a catheter inserted into my bladder to drain it. Have nothing but praise and thanks to everyone who was involved in my treatment. So kind and reassuring.

Review titled These people are saints
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Del huse - Posted on 28 November 2022
I spent over 12 hours in A&E here today, from about 0230 in the morning, being diagnosed and treated for tremendous pain which turned out to be kidney stones. Faced with some less than cooperative nor appreciative customers, I watched the staff work solidly from shift to shift, maintaining their composure and professionalism when “the public” at times behaved terribly. I met everyone from the kitchen porter and trainee nurses through to junior and senior doctors and couldn’t be more impressed. Well done to you all, you are a credit to your profession and to this hospital and department.

Review titled Xray and ultrasound booking line
by DashaDi - Posted on 18 November 2022
This is about the Southampton X Ray and Ultrasound Booking Line. My GP gave me this number and told me to call them for an appointment for an ultrasound. After numerous attempts and finally calling, to book an soft tissue US, which, according to the doctor's request, should be urgent (since for 5 months they have not been able to diagnose me and prescribe the appropriate treatment), they told me that they do not make an appointment by phone and they will send me a letter with a booking for home address during the working week. However, 2 weeks have already passed, and I still have not received the letter and the booking, respectively, too. Am I misunderstanding the meaning of the word "urgent"? In my understanding, "urgent" means at least in the next few days, not weeks or months.
