A big thank you to each and every staff member. They all made a difference with their professionalism, communication, compassion and cheery disposition. I waited until the end of my mother’s stay in case there were any exceptions, but everything was exceptional. I think good architecture helps efficiency and the healing process so should not be underestimated

While the rest of the out-patient areas appeared slumbering, Dermatology seemed to be fully staffed and operating. Friendly staff, and generally a good-feeling atmosphere. I had been contacted earlier in the morning to invite me in before my due appointment time, and was quickly assessed.

My wife called 111 for medical advice and they advised Hospital treatment and they were sending an Ambulance. The Medics arrived about 10 minutes later and were very thorough and professional. At Southmead Hospital my wife was seen very promptly and received a number of tests. The Stroke Doctor and Consultant were amazing in communicating with my wife regarding test results and treatments etc. Fortunately my wife was ok to go home and an MRI scan was arranged for the following day. I’m so grateful for the wonderful care and professionalism my wife received from the 111 Operator, the Ambulance Medics, the Doctors and Nurses. Plus the very kind Tea Lady. We are so fortunate to have this Hospital and the wonderful Staff available to us. Thank you all.

Admitted for Brain surgery on the 27th November 2023, service was outstanding from intensive care to ward 7a Southmead Hospital, Bristol. You are all amazing, all staff were incredible.

Was absolutely terrified of having an operation but the staff and care I received was fantastic. Can’t fault it made it almost enjoyable ! And feeling so much better now too Thank you NHS north Bristol

I was staying in the area and required urgent treatment due to rib pain and Shortness of breath. I couldn't fault the service everyone acted quickly and professionally an amazing team. The people in the waiting room with me where also very friendly and looked after me as I was on my own. Thankyou

Attended A&E on Tuesday morning, referred to Plastic Surgery Hand Clinic. Received consultation appointment for following morning, and procedure carried out same afternoon. All staff so supportive & friendly. Excellent experience all round!

I was referred to the Acute Medical Unit in the middle of the night and checked in at 02.30. From the moment I arrived all staff were friendly and professional. It is clear that patient welfare is paramount. I was routinely kept informed of the progress of my case, what treatment / procedure to expect and why. I also felt consulted instead of sermonised. Having moved from London where it seemed that the objective was to discharge patients at the earliest opportunity, it was refreshing and surprising to find myself in a hospital where I was expected to remain until the doctors were 100% satisfied that it was safe for me to do so. Keep up the good work. Southmead should be a template for other hospitals.
