  1. Review titled Vernon Ward St George's Hospital

by deno - Posted on 16 August 2022

I was on this ward 2 years ago and it was an awful experience! Coming back I was dreading it, however, I found each and every staff member on this ward, friendly, approachable, informative and most of all caring towards patients. Such a difference from when I was here last. The staff really showed that they loved what they do, even though the shifts are long and there is much to do. I'm so impressed with the change in this ward, especially with the difficulties the NHS is going through. The only 3 things I want to comment on is the cleanliness, it was maintained very well. Only on day 3 someone cleaned my bedside table, I don't think it was clean from the previous patient. Second thing, the food, not sure why a menu is given when every meal I never received what I ordered. Obviously not the ward staffs fault, but why set a menu if you can not deliver. The last thing is, I see visiting hours changed to all day. While this may be good for some it wasn't great for me, as I had come onto the ward at 11am from recovery, the person in the next bed had a visitor at 13.00 and they spoke the whole time. I had just come from recovery and wanted to sleep but the constant chatting prevented this. I think protected time should still be kept. In a whole the ward has improved a lot. The staff are amazing and I just want to pass on my gratitude to each and every one of them.

  2. Review titled Excellent care provided by Bariatric Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Maja Khavaja - Posted on 12 August 2022

I have attended hospital due to sleeve gastrectomy surgery, my surgery was successful and I had excellent care from post-operation with a great farewell from the bariatric team. I must say that I am disappointed with the catering department from the venom ward which they were not aware of the diet and the choice of food items and service was terrible. Besides that all was great. Thank you for your input!

  3. Review titled Richmond Ward was like a private hospital for VIPs:

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The treatment I received was as if I was in a private hospital; I was regularly seen by a doctor, as well as by the Registrar and the nurse practitioners interacted with me every day- they were all very impressive. The staff on Richmond ward were knowledgeable and they were all a very happy working team- that really stood out. They listened very carefully to my responses, and there was great empathy and the details of application of my taking antibiotics and applying creams etc during and after my care in the ward was very carefully explained to me, and I was given clear written instructions.
