  1. Review titled Mediocre service and still no results

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Valentina V - Posted on 25 May 2023

I went to the imaging department for a MRI on the 21st of April. The nurse who took me to the changing room was quite rude and didn’t explain me properly the procedure, but fortunately I already had a MRI before so I was familiar with it. They gave me ear plugs to reduce the machine sound but they kept on explaining me thing after I was asked to put them in my ears. Lastly, I still didn’t get the MRI results after more than a month from the appointment and nobody replies to my email.

  2. Review titled Very pleasant ladies

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a very short visit to investigate what turned out to be a harmless lesion on my foot. The doctor and trainee couldn't have been more sympathetic and charming. The only downside was the maze like hospital site which is difficult to navigate because of the extensive building works! Luckily I arrived at my appointment with 5 minutes to spare.

  4. Review titled Awful experience- will avoid in future

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Leanne - Posted on 18 March 2023

I took my 86 year old grandmother to St Mary’s hospital A&E department as instructed to do so by a doctor at a routine appointment that same day. (Wound on her leg infected) my grandmother was told that she could possibly have her leg amputated if not treated. We are still waiting 7.5 hours later. The chairs are metal and not suitable for an elderly person with severe arthritis. How can anyone expect an 86 year old lady to wait on metal chairs for 7.5 hours? I spoke to the reception staff who were the opposite of empathetic - she said that last week it was a 13 hour wait and we should count ourselves lucky. What has happened to St Mary’s A&E department. Where is the humanity. It’s like feeding time at the zoo.

  5. Review titled Very helpful service in paediatric A and E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2023

My teenage son had a perforated eardrum, high fever etc and although A and E was extremely busy he received excellent service from the nurse and doctor on duty. They were both very kind and explained everything to him in an age appropriate manner. I felt very reassured that they were knowledgable, thorough in their approach, and efficient. Thank you both very much.

  6. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Auriel Fielder - Posted on 17 February 2023

On Sunday 12th Feb I met up with a friend (75yrs) for a walk in Hyde Park. She collapsed with a seizure. The ambulance came promptly and paramedics were excellent. Arriving at St Marys the triage was very speedy. At regular intervals more tests and repeat tests were done. Eventually after 10hrs my friend was cleared to go home. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and attention. It was extremely busy and many very serious cases were dealt with during this time. Thank you for being there when we needed you.

  7. Review titled Worst possible appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ashok Jain - Posted on 13 January 2023

I was referred to see a consultant Rheumatologist in August 2021. I am still waiting for receive my appointment. My GP try to find out the problem by tracing trail, and I was informed that I am not going to be seen by Rheumatologist in St Marty’s Paddington, London! I have waited for 16 months, pain is getting worse and have been removed from the hospital waiting list for unknown reasons. If this is not the worse experience one can have what would that be?

  8. Review titled Efficient and Friendly Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2023

I was seen quickly, around 20 minutes, before I was referred to Urgent Care. The staff at A&E were continually checking on patients waiting and it was a calm environment. I walked to Urgent Care and was seen in 20 minutes by the friendliest and most helpful nurse. She attended to my problem quickly and chatted with me, which helped to keep me from worrying. I had to go back 2 days later and as soon as she saw me in the waiting area she looked after me, even though she was on her way out for a break. I was incredibly impressed by the service and attentiveness of the staff, from the beginning to the end. I had the best experience one can expect when in an emergency situation. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough and I am so thankful to the hard work of all the staff at St Mary’s!

  9. Review titled patient experience in endoscopy

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by maria - Posted on 23 January 2023

I attended for gastroscopy on 20 Jan . Everyone I met introduced themselves, was kind and professional. My care was timely and the results and report were provided straight away. Above all, I felt safe and cared about. I was not looking forward to the experience but the compassion of the staff made such a difference. The nurse who sat with me and talked me through the procedure was so reassuring and stopped me panicking. Thank you so much team Endoscopy, you are an exemplary NHS service. I would definitely recommend to others.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband visited the Chest & Allergy clinic this morning for an oxygen assessment and lung function test. It necessitated a long visit but we were treated so well by both members of staff concerned who were both efficient and sympathetic. I cannot name them but if at all possible I would like them to be thanked and told that we really appreciated their professionalism and empathy.
