Review titled Superb co-ordinating response to patient need
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hamilton I Hay - Posted on 01 August 2023
Arriving 1.30pm Monday 31st July, checked in, immediately volunteer showed me to seat and made me relax. and only waited 10 minutes before nurse undertook preliminary checks on my asthmatic breaths. Taken for ex-ray, then respiratory unit for short wait for more testing + use of nebuliser (made huge difference). 30 wait till saw doctor. Helpful discussions about medication before releasing. Report will be forthcoming to my GP. Thank to you all.

Review titled Above and beyond
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I felt the need to come on and leave a review for an amazing midwife working on Aleck Bourne ward 2. My friends and I were on a hen do in London on the weekend and one of my friends who is a nursing mother realised she had forgotten a cable for her electric breast pump. After trying to use a manual pump and searching multiple pharmacies/ shops to try and hire a pump or find a spare cable with no success, she was in agony and we didn’t know where to turn other than the maternity ward. The midwife we saw was so empathetic and went above and beyond to ensure my friend was helped even though she was not a formal patient of the ward. We were truly touched and it meant we could continue the weekend and my friend could have some much deserved girl time and didn’t need to race home, doing wonders for her post natal mental health. the nhs is so stretched as we all know and we felt terrible adding that, but the outstanding compassion from individuals like this midwife to go above and beyond to help a mother whom was not in her own care, was incredible. Thankyou!

Review titled Inguinal Hernia Operation - Paterson Building
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Grae - Posted on 21 June 2023
An absolutely first class and exemplary experience for my inguinal hernia operation on 20 June. The lead consultant performed the operation and was brilliant. The nursing team and especially the ward sister were fantastic and I also highly commend the anaesthetist and nurse in the operating theatre. Patient transport took me home and arrived within about 15 minutes. I can't recommend St Mary's highly enough. Thank you so much to all. Please pass my thanks and appreciation the The Consultant Genera, Upper Gastrointestian and Bariatric Surgeon Lead for Acute Surgery and his team.

Review titled The best gynecology department
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Viktorija - Posted on 25 May 2023
I've been coming back to the hospital every year for the last 5-6 years, met more than one doctor and staff member and all of them are just the best people on earth. As we know, you normally don't go to the clinic as such with no issues but everyone makes you feel very comfortable, explains everything as much and as clearly as possible. The most stress free experience you can get in such situations!

Attended with knee pain and was seen quickly and efficiently. All the staff I met were friendly, courteous and professional and I was seen, x rayed, diagnosed and given crutches and painkillers all in under 90 minutes - very impressive service

Review titled Bad receptionest
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Ali Ali - Posted on 08 May 2023
Am suffering from noise and hearing problem and was advised to walk in at Audiology for a test on Tuesday or Thursday so on Wednesday and asked the receptionist at the Audiology Desk about the time and 100000% told me from 9-12 and 1:30 to 4 on both days so I said I will come then after 1 so I can finish my prayers first. Next day Thursday arrived at 2:15 pm and the moment I walked in and the way the lady behind the desk who I spoke to the day earlier was not at her best mood. a grim face and serious tone she said yes so i was trying to show her the referral and said am her for the test I spoke to you about yesterday and she started to say oh am not crazy i didn't say that i told you Thursday is 9-12 and Tuesday is 1:30-4:00 which was not true as on the day i asked she was with another lady sitting behind the desk... However am not well and bad sound or the way she was ignorant and arrogant talking to me that way made me really upset so I asked her not to be rude and asked her politely to shut up... Am shocked at her way of receiving patient. its a hospital and if you cant be nice then better shut it down its more appropriate then to have staff with this attitude... thanks for reading..

Review titled Long waiting times
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 April 2023
We arrived at 11:25 for our appointment at 11:30. Several others arrived for appointments at the same time. All others were seen. More people arrived with later bookings and were seen before us, with someone being moved up the queue. When we asked at 11:50 how much longer we would be made to wait, we were told it would another 20min. In total we waited almost an hour for a service we were on time for, while others who arrived after us were seen before us.

Review titled Brilliant experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Simon Walton - Posted on 24 April 2023
I was due to have a CT colonography procedure in the imaging department. I arrived ready to read "War and Peace" from cover to cover! However, I waited no more than five minutes and then was taken through to the section and looked after by the most charming, efficient, helpful people that ever existed and was out on the street within little more than 30 minutes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
