Review titled Fantastic Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nick Bussian - Posted on 07 February 2025
I recently attended St Michael's for a knee replacement surgery. I went in on the 28th Jan and back home on the 29th but in such a short space of time The service I received was phenomenal. Trepidation was misguided as I received nothing but reassurance and kindness from the getgo. Everything to happen was explained to me and I was encouraged to ask questions. The operation went extremely well under the expert hands of the anethytist, Surgeon and nurses and i was informed by the anethytist straight after that all went well. The aftercare in St Joseph's ward was excellent and I was in awe of one nurse in particular who seemed to be everywhere doing everything singlehandedly and always with a smile she is a credit to the hospital in fact I was kind of sad to leave as I was so well looked after by her , it's unfortunate that I am not allowed to mention her name Everything was nice and clean, and I have to say the meals were delicious. All in all I can honestly say I was indeed lucky to have had my operation in St Michael's. It is in my opinion second to none . Nick Bussian

I had a total knee replacement in March at St Michael's in Hayle, it was a totally great experience due to all the nurses and staff who worked so hard to make sure everything went smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, I even had a sunday roast dinner that was very nice. Thank you to all the Team there.

Attended an appointment with Orthopaedics today. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Happy, friendly and reassuring members of staff. Putting us at ease, with both professional, and humourous chat. Special mention to our favourite Wizard! However everyone from the receptionist, Nurses and the surgeon were / are a credit to the NHS. Thankyou and keep doing what you're all amazing at xx

I would like to thank all the staff of St Michael's for their excellent care, whilst I was fitted with a new knee. Everyone was so kind and caring. The service I received couldn't have been better if I went private.

My recent experience of St michaels was an eye opener being on the other side as a patient having breast surgery the staff were so kind and so professional from porters to anaesthetist. Nurses, surgeons. Recovery staff and I felt so safe throughout. What a wonderful hospital To add breast cancer services within RCHT have been so impressive with efficiency combined with care and compassion

by Rosie Tints - Posted on 02 January 2024
I was greeted by a very pleasant and attentive young man, who listened well and checked my movements, information and if I needed to ask anything, he was kind, professional and reassuring. I felt confident about my treatment and the hospital.

Review titled The best in Cornwall

I attended for my knee replacement surgery with trepidation and worry but Wow! Was I in go for a fantastic experience. From the time I arrived at a very friendly reception, to being discharged with my new knee, I was taken aback by how hard everyone worked at making me feel special. The Anethetist was fantastic friendly and extremely skilful. My surgeon left me in awe at his skill. The Nurses 'Oh' the nurses how they made me feel at ease, reassured me when I felt I was too needy, and looked after me always with a smile and making sure I understood everything that was being done for me. The place was spotless thanks to a brilliant cleaning team and porters went about their jobs with a smile. I am so grateful and lucky to have been treated in this fantastic Hospital and in St Joseph's ward in particular. I am sorry if I missed anyone out but there were too many to mention. I am now looking forward to coming back for my other Knee. Something I wouldn't have said a week ago Nick
