I had to have a stress cardiology scan, the doctor and nurses were absolutely outstanding in dealing with my stress and they were extremely efficient, couldn't have praised them more,

Review titled Exceptional Experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Brian Thomson - Posted on 17 May 2024
On 13 May 2024 I was admitted to St Peter’s for a suspected angina/heart attack. I doubt anyone likes being admitted to hospital, least at St Peter’s which, unfortunately has a poor reputation apart from the food where the poor reputation is fully justified. Now the good part. My care was undoubtedly the best I have received in any hospital. I was first assessed by SDEC who, whilst under enormous pressure, treated me with kindness, compassion and supreme skill. When it was decided that I was to be admitted I was transferred to Burch Ward. Everything went without a hitch. The nursing staff in Burch were brilliant and I cannot speak highly enough of them, both in B ward and later in D ward. Similarly the doctors were as brillliant and, they too, were excellent, extremely competent and ultra professional. When it was decided I needed angioplasty and a stent inserted I could not have been in better hands. Every area of my treatment was handled professionally and with love, kindness and respect. Nothing seemed to phase the nurses even when some patients became “ a little outspoken”. If you need to be admitted to St Peter’s you could not be in better or more capable hands. Don’t be fooled by previous reviews, St Peter’s and their nursing staff are a real credit to the NHS. Now if they could sort the catering???

Review titled Very good service considering number of patients
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 March 2024
All staff were lovely , very professional and calming . Urgent day unit , all staff brilliant , admin ,nurses very professional, doctors and porters really lovely . CT scan plus cardiac scan team excellent . The unit was great but terrible to see so many A/E patients on trolleys in gloomy grey corridors , not a nice place to be when really sick . Two points to improve , please , doctors must carry out all conversations with patients in a private room not in the waiting room . Secondly , discharge notes bundle stapled together, got home and found another patients Full personal details at back of bundle .

Review titled Outstanding Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted for a blocked intestine. Within a few hours I was operated on and treated exceptionally well by the surgical team. I was moved onto the post surgical ward. The staff could not have been more helpful or more pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The care was exceptional day and night and my visitors were all treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Every Nurse, Doctor, Physiotherapist, Consultant, Registrar and student was respectful and helpful. I couldn't have been given any better care in a Private Facility. I would recommend St Peter's Hospital to anyone requiring Emergency Treatment. Thank you to all the staff who took care of me during my 6 day stay. I am very grateful for their Care and Concern for me.

We been here now for over three and half hours still waiting to have a simply blood test and so are other people it’s disgusting. In pain no one has given any pain killers have asked number of times Luckily son had some in his car so taking his medicine staff just ignoring us. Extremely Very rude nurses/staff here who don’t even reply to you and shut the door in your face. Finally find one staff member who did help a little but even ther reply was rude and don’t want help only asked as we had to go out few time as was seen by doctors you have no way to tel if your name has been called or not. No where to sit been standing all this time very over crowded spoke to someone else they been here since 2pm and now it’s half eight seriously what’s happening to our emergency services at this hospital? There’s no information displayed anywhere to tel us about waiting times ect. Patience have no privacy at this hospital have seen some very sick people struggling yet no one is helping them.Just very awful experience not recommended A&E at this Hospital.

Review titled Third World

Was visiting a relative. The corridors were full of sick people on trolleys. It was a Sunday and so I assume the hospital was operating on a skeleton staff with few, if any, senior doctors or Consultants. We tried to find a doctor who could give us information on my very ill relative. We had to admit defeat. A message for the NHS managers - people get sick at weekends!! Shameful.

Review titled fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Wally Robson - Posted on 11 January 2024
was in two wards for 10 days. The care and kindness shown was fantastic, not only by the nurses but, cleaners porters people who bring food etc round. The food was great and good selection. Everybody was so kind and nothing was too much trouble. Had a few patients grumbling but they are sick and sometimes a bit self centred, understandably so, but do not take their grumbles seriously. Excellent 10 out of 10 all round. Thank you all so much

I was taken to A&E by ambulance and received instant attention and treatment on arrival. All the staff were absolutely amazing and so kind and caring. A bed on Maple ward was found for me within a short time where I was treated for three days by wonderful staff. Thank you all so much for providing such an amazing service. Everyone remained calm and caring despite being under pressure. Thank you.
