Review titled taken to A&e
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by MICHAEL COLTART - Posted on 11 November 2023
Today i was first treated by ambulance staff, then taken to the A&E department, for assessment . from my time of arriving to that of leaving. i was treated with the best care and service i could have asked for, yes they where /or appeared to be packed with people waiting , but once assessed the doctors/nurses/porters/cleaners are indeed fantastic at what they do. lots of moaning grumpy people who did not like having to wait, (many not requiring a&e they should have gone to local doctor or walk in centres) .my opinion. any way the care was so good, form a team who put service and care for front. I say thankyou so much. even on return home a call from the doctor .just to double check, informing myself further cardiac investigation had been put in place. about two/3 years back this hospitals medical team, saved my life and fitted a pace-maker with a monitor. I had had a few months before this a double bypass. through Frimley park hospital, few months later heart stopped time then restarted ?? , rushed to st Peters. and from that day on they have been there for me with nothing but the best care and service i could expect, fantastic. the ambulance staff again fantastic, yes we had a short wait in all departments , but then look how many people are passing through the system, many with little or no respect for the team that work here . thankyou so much.

Taken my partner here after a seizure. I know its a busy place but was left for hours without being told what's happening. An total no communication between staff each time we were seen they had to ask us what the last nurse had said or done . How doseca place exist like this in the 21st century?

Review titled Over stretched & 8 hour wait
Rated 1 star out of 5

Arrived at 6pm on a Monday. Spent 7 hours on a trolley in the corridor. Didn't get seen by a consultant for 8 hours. Stuck on a trolley for over 24 hours in A&E as no beds on ward available. Absolute chaos, felt sorry for the staff as it was so busy. It would be great if staff could be more mindful of the fact that patients & relatives can actually hear them talking & complaining about their colleagues & other patients - not professional at all. Was taken to St.Peters by ambulance as they had a Cardiac unit. Didn't see a cardiologist until 30hrs after arrival.

From start to finish the staff were friendly, welcoming and patient, explaining what was being done and checking regularly on my condition. Part of an overall process that has been fast and joined up.

Review titled Poor time management
Rated 1 star out of 5

My son was rushed in early hours in severe pain the process to ensure his comfort and pain relief was interrupted by staff breaks and I had to watch my son in pain for an hour or so until I intervened to remind them of his pain, a 7 hour wait for a CT Scan is beyond appropriate for any medical service especially if it leads to life and death. I have to say the staff are especially polite and hard working but the service is broken, under staffed and poorly managed with poor communication. It feels like a third world service and I know it’s not the NHS but just this hospital, they told my son to provide sample and forgot to do this, nothing is noted, listed or communicated to the new shift taking over it’s not a service I would pay for so thank god it’s free or they be out of business. This hospital needs more staff and a better system.

Review titled Amazing experience start to finish.

The care and attentiveness of all the staff towards my daughter who had surgery at Oak Ward today was sensational. The children’s ward made every aspect calming and inviting to keep my 5 year old at ease. It didn’t feel like the intimidating experience she was expecting, it was the complete opposite. Thank you thank you thank you amazing hospital staff xxx

My son was admitted for 2 weeks in St Peters on the Gastroenterology ward. The care he received was exceptional and we are very grateful. Thank you to his consultant and the IBD nurses for all your support.

Review titled Excellent all round experience for elderly lady
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the excellent service received by my elderly mother who fell and broker her hip. To the lovely ladies who picked her up by ambulance and the fantastic A&E department for their thoroughness and kindness. They were so efficient and nothing was too much trouble. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors on Swan ward. In times when the NHS is stretched to the limit the care that the staff give to their patients is so heartwarming. What would we do without these caring people, without the NHS!!

Review titled Excellent care

I gave birth at the Abbey Wing couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with the care, friendliness and speed of attention from everyone looking after us. My first birth was at Kingston hospital which we liked but since we moved we decided not to have to travel that far. We heard mixed opinions about St Peter’s but I have to say we had much better experience here than at Kingston in the end. Thank you to everyone, the maternity team, all the midwife’s nurses and doctors have been amazing. Thank you to all staff who were part of our journey for helping with the fast delivery of our gorgeous son!
