Review titled Hysterectomy - laparoscopic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by ANNE BOURAS - Posted on 26 July 2024
I recently underwent a hysterectomy at St Richards Hospital, Chichester. (July 2024) My whole experience has been first class; from initial referral from my GP to outpatient and pre op appointments, to the surgery itself. and the aftercare in the Recovery Department. I have met extremely kind, caring and professional staff who made my experience comfortable and stress free. My thanks to all concerned.

Review titled Shocking treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 June 2024
Arrived at A and E and there were only 2 patients in The waiting room, triage very quick, of course, because this makes it look like they are meeting targets. Another 6 hours in the waiting room and fit to sit, suspected stroke, confirmed then sent home ‘under the care of GP’ not rushed of their getting just slowly moving through patients, no urgency at all. Basically the department is just mismanaged and needs a good shake up before something serious happens

Review titled Blood test clinic
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Peter. Merritt - Posted on 28 June 2024
Had a blood test today , with the appt system it’s much more efficient and saves waiting to long , the nurses in this dept are exceptionally good at taking blood tests , I now go to them as they always manage to get a sample of blood every time , and you don’t come away like being a dart board ,, excellent team .

Review titled Dismissive & Inconsistent Asthma Care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 June 2024
We have had constantly inconsistent asthma care during an acute flair up. Sometimes when presenting with asthmatic attacks we have received very good care, requiring time in resus with steroids and nebulisers, leading to admissions to the respiratory or general medical wards and yet other times, as indeed happened today, we have received wholly inconsistent and incorrect advice from locum doctors who have not read any history, and are giving unsafe and unsound advice regarding asthma. This includes specifying that an asthma attack, despite being confirmed by an asthma consultant in the same hospital, was in fact just a panic attack! Shocking care and now no trust in A&E

Review titled Poor patient service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Peter - Posted on 05 June 2024
I have been taken care off by the hospital staff very well and with dignity but diabetes medicines didn't deliver patient centered care for me. I had an appointment booked for 9.30a.m at the diabetes medicines and since l relocated recently to kent it was way to short notice to make changes and being used to the friendly staff at st Richard's it was worth the sacrifice of the travel. Due to road works there where delays with my trip and when l noticed l wasn't going to catch the prescribed 9.30a.m,l called the number attached to the sms on the appointment and advised l was going to be and hour late is it still advisable for me to proceed or should l turn back and rebook. The lady put me on hold and came back to me after a few seconds confirming l should proceed for an ETA appointment 10:30a.m and she gave me another number in case there where further changes. I arrived at the hospital at 10:07, receptionist was very friendly and kind and they registered me and l was taken for observations and told to sit back in the waiting room. The nurse who took my obs came back to inform me the doctor couldn't see me as she had plenty other people to see. It's understandable, but they had the opportunity to tell me whilst l was an hour away to turn back, they could have made a referral to somewhere closer all l was told is l am sorry she can't see you, no sign of sympathy or explanation, the sacrifice made and day wasted, fuel used and all. I am driving off so disappointed just being treated like an appointment no patient centered care at all......Really disappointment 167miles traveled to have my weight and blood pressure taken.

Review titled Outstanding Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Catherine Williams - Posted on 22 June 2024
I would like to thank both staff in A&E and Ford Ward who have been exceptionally caring and highly professional in caring for my grandmother. Her care was outstanding. From the moment she arrived in A&E, staff were quick to respond to her, acting swiftly whilst always respectful of her dignity. The nursing staff were compassionate, supportive and highly respectful - literally angels. Their expertise and knowledge ensured that my grandmother passed away with dignity once up on the ward. The nurse consultant was incredibly helpful in explaining everything that we asked and the Dr Consultant showed such compassion. As a team Ford ward worked so incredibly hard and with great passion. Thank you for making our world just a little bit brighter at such a hard time. We will always be grateful.

Review titled Superb A&E department diagnosing&treating my lung blood clot
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris Nix - Posted on 05 June 2024
I attended A&E with breathlessness and racing heart at lunchtime Thurs. Within 6 hours and a CT scan the next morning they confirmed a blood clot on my right lung. I stayed in overnight and was discharged on Sat pm after 2 injections of Heparin and then daily diminishing blood thinning pills for the future. My experience of the process and professionalism of the many staff was absolutely superb, through many many tests, analysis and speed. Everyone was also so welcoming and friendly...... Triage, blood tests, 2 plus analytical Doctors, ward staff, food and Discharge Pharmacy. It could not have been better privately. Thank you St Richards, everything much appreciated
