Review titled good experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by george sibun - Posted on 08 December 2022
i had an appointment with selsey medical practice, they told me to go straight st richards a&e. i arrived about 1 pm booked in, about 10 minutes later i was called through where a lovely nurse took all my details, she was so professional, told me roughly how long i would have to wait , she was spot on, the next nurse hooked me up to a ecg heart machine and took five lots of blood, she was so kind and thoughtful to me, explained it would be two hours for all the results to come through, then i saw a doctor she said everything was fine with my heart, but wanted me to have chest xray. the xray people were a great bunch. the doctor found out i had a chest infection, she took me into the a&e ward.for some treatment and gave me a course of tables to take.. going into that ward took me back, i just could not believe how many sick people were in there its heart breaking to see.. my doctor was amazing, calm and collective a real professional. thank you so much for all your help i really appreciate what you did in the time about four and half in all cant be that bad.. what i did notice it seems to me your staff need more help in the way of more people, the ones you have got are brilliant at what they do... thanks again.because we did get home till after five we had a takeaway my wife was over the moon, another satisfied person no cooking..

Review titled 100% excellent all round care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Vivien Markey - Posted on 08 December 2022
I had a procedure at the Fontwell Suite, Chichester Treatment Centre the receptionist was pleasant and helpful both at the pre op and the procedure. I probably waited less than 5 minutes before being called in by the Nurse who took me through and explained what I needed to do prior to the procedure. I thought the ward was very clean and when I was taken through to the Cath lab all the equipment looked very clean. The team led by the Cardiologist all worked smoothly and obviously had excellent standards of practice, it was a very calm and reassuring experience and I really felt cared for. On return to the ward nothing was too much trouble for any of the Nurses, St Richards Hospital be proud of all your wonderful staff and other patients be assured you are in good safe hands with up to the minute technology. Thank you so much

Review titled Excellent treatment

I had a small implant put in by the nurse led clinic. Three nurses took care of me from getting me ready to discharging me. The treatment I received was excellent, the nurses were kind, considerate and friendly. They were caring, very concerned that I should know what was going to happen during and after the procedure. The machinery was set up for me and its use explained, I feel very, very fortunate to have such equipment available to me. I wish I could thank these three ladies by name. Kindness and compassion go such a long way and are so appreciated. Thank you.

During the past 12 months I have received the very best care from the team of physiotherapists in St Richards Munro Unit. After I fractured my patella I thought I would be unable to walk easily, pain free again. Thanks to the encouragement excellent help and advice I have received from the physiotherapists I am well on the way to full recovery. I will never be able to thank everyone enough, the Exercise Gym sessions in the Munro Unit have been invaluable. I wish to thank the friendly helpful receptionists in the Munro Unit and all the doctors nurses and staff in St Richards who have helped me so much.

Review titled Miserable experience, left in tears!
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Went to A&E with pancreatitis. Was triaged quick, said it was very painful. Told to wait in waiting room. It was absolutely freezing, after 4 hours I was frozen to the bone and in pain. I got very tearful and just had to leave, just wanted to get home to get to bed and take pain relief. Lucky I had morphine at home. I knew what was wrong with me as I have had pancreatitis earlier this year and spent 5 days in hospital, it’s a serious condition but obviously the triage nurse didn’t think so as other patients who came after me and were well enough to smoke outside got to see a doctor a lot quicker. While I was huddled over in pain and trying to get warm I could see that the floor was filthy, didn’t see a cleaner once while I was there. Why is the reception area so cold, is it deliberate so people will leave. It was an utterly miserable experience!

Review titled Worrying
Rated 1 star out of 5

After visiting my friend in Birdham ward twice in the last week I am very concerned by the lack of communication from the staff and even more so the non existence of any mental or physical stimulation being provided to the patients, I was quite horrified that my friend was expected to just lay there. I’m disgusted and saddened that there is no thought put in to help these people along through the day, not even a TV.

Review titled Med team great receptionist spectacularly bad.

Receptionist in CT scanning barely made eye contact with my 76 yr old father in law. Muttered her questions, did not check whether he could hear her, when asked asked a question she rolled g her eyes and sighed. The person sitting with her was kind enough to explain the answer but working with live and potentially very sick people is clearly not her forte any more than working on a reception desk. She may be tired of or loathe her job but if that's the standard she can deliver at 9:45am on a Monday morning Lord help anyone meeting her by after lunch on Wednesdays.

I attended St Richard’s to undertake tests in three different Outpatients Departments. Each Dept was expecting me, the Receptionists were polite and helpful, and I was seen promptly. Thank you St Richard’s.
