  1. Review titled Excellent patient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I want to compliment the great care, attention & empathy extended to me today by the wonderful nurses on the Greenwood Ward during my procedure today. They were caring, understand & patient with me as I was quite anxious, but they put me at ease & couldn’t have been more attentive. An absolute credit. Thank you

  2. Review titled A Gem of a hospital in Stamford

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From the moment I walked into reception I was greeted by a lovely lady who gave me clear directions on where I needed to go. Once I arrived at the department it was the same again, lovely people. The staff that saw me were all great and reassuring, I never felt there was any pressure to move me along. I ended up having an MRI, and the team there were great also. I never felt rushed. I also made use of the Friary cafe onsite, a nice place to relax killing some time until my train was due. Full marks NHS and Stamford Hospital.

  3. Review titled Exceptional Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a worrying large Growth (Melanoma?) on my scalp removed by the the Dermatologist Group (Consultant Dr. ??'s Team) in the Dronfield Suite yesterday. Everything went to plan with zero pain and every single member of the Team was exceptional, helpful, calming, reassuring and all with a wicked sense of humour: just what I needed.

  4. Review titled Fantastic care

I suffered a broken wrist on 12 April and attended Stamford Minor Injuries unit. I was X-rayed quickly. The break was manipulated into place and set by some amazing medics. This was done so well that I did not have surgery which was initially planned by Peterborough City Hospital. I am now out of cast and recovering with physiotherapy. I have nothing but praise for them and sincerely thank the lovely staff at Stamford for such wonderful care.

  5. Review titled Rude staff told me to leave waiting area!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sarah Watts - Posted on 16 April 2024

Accompanied my 20 year old daughter for a urology appointment (which she is extremely anxious about) when rather abruptly and rudely a member staff asked me to leave the waiting room and wait in the overpriced cafe. There were no other people in waiting room other than myself and my daughter?! On top of this I’ve just had my 6th cycle of chemotherapy (which you can clearly see from my bald head and no eyebrows) and didn’t fancy having to walk the convoluted, lengthy walk I’d just done to arrive at the Greenwood day unit. I asked why I had to wait elsewhere to be told that they have 20 patients coming in so there isn’t a lot enough room for me to wait?! What 20 people at once were about to walk in?! I’m absolutely fuming. Unnecessarily rude! And my poor, frightened daughter hasn’t got her mum by her side! Disgusting!

  6. Review titled Greenwood Day Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had an appointment today in the pain management unit for an injection due to a herniated disc. Honestly, I'm so surprised by how well it went. The first nurse who dealt with me was so lovely. I explained that I suffer with anxiety and she made me feel so much better. She made sure I understood everything that was going to happen. I was then sat in a waiting room to wait for my turn. I only waited approx 30 minutes and then I was shown to a bay on the ward to get undressed and they were very professional. Closing the curtain and letting me know there is a window there while I change. Then it was time for me to go in for the injection. By this point, I was physically shaking but I was reassured that everything would be ok. Yes the anaesthetic was painful (as expected) but after that it was painless. The lady who sat near me, chatting to me and even holding my hand when needed made the experience a lot more comfortable. The consultant doing the injection asked me regularly if I was okay. The procedure was done within about 20 minutes. I was wheeled into the ward on a bed and was immediately offered a drink and some biscuits. After approx 20 minutes, I was able to stand up and get dressed and then assisted to get into a wheelchair to be taken to the main entrance. I can genuinely say that I would be happy to go there again if needed. There were a lot of staff on the ward and they were all so lovely, friendly and helpful. They made me feel at ease and like nothing was too much trouble for them. I'm gutted I forgot to fill out the feedback form. I would 100% recommend here.

  7. Review titled Dysfunctional incompetent

Rated 1 star out of 5

A simple blood test, for diabetes and 4 months on still no results, they labelled the bloods incorrectly and performed the wrong tests. Total incompetence, no wonder people are dying.

  8. Review titled No referral information and no compassion

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by D Riley - Posted on 04 August 2023

I arrived for my dermatology appointment, one I've waited over 2 years for. I was seen 25 minutes late and on entering the room was told they did not have any of my referral information, didn't know what illnesses I had, what help I needed or why. After 2 years! I was asked to give a quick history and when advising of 2 or 3 areas of concern was told 'I have to pick one and be quick cause we don't have time". After waiting 2 years, and after my GP told me this would all be addressed in the same appointment. Absolutely gutwrenching. After explaining one main area of concern, I was asked what I wanted to be done about it, before she'd even looked at it. I'm not a doctor, why do I need to recommend my own treatment? However I did do my research before attending and provided my very quick opinion what I thought were the available treatments. To then have the doctor disregarded my opinion entirely and prescribe me creams for an auto immune disease that also affect my nails and bones? And admit to me that it won't help most of my affected areas? Why waste my time, money and respect? I feel so unheard and unseen. The staff at dermatology in Stamford and Rutland have destroyed what little faith I had left in the NHS. I'd put in an official complaint if I thought it would make a difference but no one in the NHS cares.

  9. Review titled Kind Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came in this morning to the walk in Phlebotomy Clinic at the Stamford Hospital, although there was quite a queue, I understood why and was happy to wait. For someone with a needle phobia, blood tests are very hard for me to go through with. The doctor/phlebotomist who took my blood was patient and kind to me and kept me talking whilst I had it done, I can’t explain enough how much this helped. I recommend going to this clinic and thank you to the man phlebotomist who did my blood test! You are amazing at your job.
