  1. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carole Heyes - Posted on 16 October 2024

Attended a&e in the morning, friendly staff reviewed quickly. They arranged for me an appointment at the eye clinic that afternoon. It was very busy in the clinic but was seen as soon as possible, they identified the issue. At 8pm at night the doctor rand me to say that I was to be seen at Manchester eye hospital at 9am the next morning. Thankful and greatful for great care. Thank you alll for looking after me.

  2. Review titled Poor and Abrupt A&E Reception Service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 October 2024

I recently called A&E and asked for an approximate waiting time as my Father has dementia and cannot wait for too long. I received an abrupt response from the receptionist to say they cannot provide this information as it may change. I fully understand it may change but a live/current approximate waiting time of 1hour or 7 hours would have been useful. I was about to ask what the current live waiting time is but she put the phone down on me mid conversation before I could even finish. The call lasted 18 seconds. Other Hospitals provide this information in an App which is very useful?

  3. Review titled Maple Suite

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul - Posted on 29 September 2024

I visited the Maple suite on Saturday 28th Oct 2024 with my 91 year old mother so that she could have an injection in her back to hopefully elleviate chronic back pain. The nurses that looked after her were fantastic and really took the time to make sure she was as relaxed as possible which really made a difference, and I cannot thank them enough.

  4. Review titled Great interaction and great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Megan - Posted on 19 September 2024

This lady her name is chop. She has been the only nurse that I have actually managed to get to talk to me about how she is doing and has made sure that her care is immaculate and is changed every 2-3 hrs

  5. Review titled Lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I took a relative to A&E today. We were welcomed by lovely staff in the A&E department. All were nice at reception, triage, doctor and pharmacy. I cannot fault them. I assume that maps and sineage around the hospital will be put up when the construction work has finished. Thank you all.

  6. Review titled Fantastic Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Oakes - Posted on 14 September 2024

Went to AE last night with my wife . Doctor and all staff were extremely sympathetic and efficient . Loads of tests carried out to get to the problem . Constant feedback on progress and what was been carried out. Yes the wait initially was long but there were extremely busy . My wife took worse whilst in the waiting area and was admitted to Resus area which was incredible . All new with the latest technology . Staff so attentive and professional . Can’t fault it . Superb NHS service . Thank you so much

  7. Review titled New A&E facility is disgraceful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 19 September 2024

Always had positive experiences at Stepping Hill. Unfortunately had to attend A&E a few days ago, first time I have been since the old A&E unit was closed and the brand new one opened. First of all it was less than half the size of the old unit with very limited seating. It was fairly busy but no more than I have experienced previously. However, due to the lack of seating and very very small space every seat was taken. This meant people were sat on the floor leaning against walls and with there being no wall space left to lean on patients were actually sat in the middle of the waiting room floor cross legged! There was such little room the queue for the desk was merging in with the rest of the patients who had already been seen and it was absolute chaos. Patiens were left waiting in hallways and corridors as well and to top it all off there was a lack of any sort of air conditioning and it was more than uncomfortably hot, it was unbearable! Despite needing medical attention i made the decision to leave the unit and see a GP in the morning instead as waiting in that space was causing me extreme distress and discomfort. I just wonder what on earth possessed the hospital to drastically decrease the size of a busy A&E unit and have it designed so poorly. If I ever have an accident again I will crawl nearer to any other hospital If I have to just so I dont have to go back here! Real shame as the other services at the hospital are brilliant.

  8. Review titled Nothing but praise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 August 2024

We attend A&E yesterday with my 10 year old son who had injured his elbow. The staff and nurses were amazing from start to finish and we were in and out within an hour and a half. I have nothing but praise for these people who often work in such a pressurised environment . I know people are more likely to complain and not as likely to commend when something was good!

On hold for 1 hour after being told I was 4th in the queue. I have waited since April for an appointment to be started on blood thinners. I haven’t received any contact by phone email or letter.

  10. Review titled Staff were great.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dawn - Posted on 15 August 2024

I visited the gastroenterology department outpatients 15/08/2024 with my dad. The staff were really helpful. The department was running a little late but we were spoken to to explain this. The department felt very organised and the staff worked well as a team. They were very welcoming. A very pleasant experience.
