  1. Review titled Great midwives during delivery

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 July 2022

On behalf of my daughter I have to leave a good review of the 2 midwives on duty during my daughter’s childbirth experience. However when the 2 midwives went off duty that’s where the care ended. My daughter who had just given birth, and was exhausted, was left in her soiled bedding to basically get on with it, she wanted a shower and I helped her, if I wasn’t there she wouldn’t have been able to do that after being on drugs and having stitches., I cannot believe that she was left like that, there was a midwife and we had to ask her to help get her off the bed. All she wanted was to have a shower but she couldn’t have managed by her self, her partner was looking after the baby. She was basically left to get on with it by herself, I feel like this was an insult to her at such a happy occasion I really can’t believe it. I understand that there is limited staff but the after the birth the service fell well below exceptable, almost insulting as I left the ward to be treated by the receptionist waving a box of masks in my face while my new born grandson was waiting with his parents to be seen to. I feel like this what should have been a happy occasion was marred by a number of failures and it’s not expected in this day and age, it’s well below what I would have expected.

Good morning, Thank you for letting us know about the experience your daughter received while in Stepping Hill. I am sorry to read that the support received was below what is accepted. Please can you confirm if this was on the ward, birth centre or delivery suite? I can then send on your concerns to the appropriate ward Manager and Matron for comment which I can share once I have received a response. In the meantime, if you would like to discuss further you can contact me on [Patient.Experience@stockport.nhs.uk](mailto:Patient.Experience@stockport.nhs.uk) Regards, Aoife Isherwood Patient Experience Facilitator

  2. Review titled Professional staff.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mike Openshaw - Posted on 20 July 2022

I would like to say thank you to the staff of the department for the professional service I received. From the short time of my referral for the initial Cystoscopy in June 2022 to my procedure on July 18th 2022 I found the staff to be extremely courteous, professional and caring. In particular the staff of Ward d5. I have always been a big supporter of the NHS, although never being admitted to hospital until now, but have only high praise for those that perform daily to the very high standard we expect of the service. Those that cared for me can be rightly proud of the exemplary job they do on a daily basis.

  3. Review titled Poor caring system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I stayed in AMU in Stepping hill hospital for about 10days and while I was staying nurses respond took more than 15min even I had high fever, also often took over 1-2hours to get a paracetamol without any reason. Also few of the nurses rubbed my arm too hard unnecessarily when they take blood so made huge bruises which left a lot of pain long time. Most of nurses didn’t looked interested on patient and kept saying I don’t understand and I don’t know and talking privately front of patient even patient waiting for medication. Also couldn’t sleep well because of too loud chatting and laughing sound all night. Specialists are mainly okay however their updates weren’t clear. They didn’t explain to me all the details of my test result which I asked. Also delayed discharge date day by day with everyday different doctors saying different reasons. It made me really confused.
