    It’s not good enough now to say for years that the hospital is looking into the parking situation. I have missed vital neonatal appointments despite giving up to an hours extra time because there simply is no parking. People resort to parking illegally everywhere as they have no choice. How can the hospital not see this as an urgent issue? It doesn’t matter how good the care is if you can’t get to your appointment

    Good afternoon, Please see below response form the Facilities Department: The Trust does have a long-standing issue with car parking capacity and we have recently approved and commenced the implementation of a new car parking strategy which will, hopefully, help improve matters. The strategy covers multiple facets of car parking, ranging from the day-to-day management of our car parks, through to our sustainability and net zero ambitions. However, the primary objective of the strategy is to improve access to our car parking facilities whilst ensuring a fair and equitable provision is made available to all our service users. You will be aware that the majority of hospitals are experiencing increased pressures as a result of significant levels of clinical activity and, unfortunately, this increase in activity places yet further demands on already stretched car parking capacity. Furthermore, in respect of the Stepping Hill Hospital site, these underlying issues are somewhat compounded as, in response to long term increases in clinical demand, the Trust is also delivering a number of building developments aimed at improving clinical outcomes through the creation of improved clinical environments. Therefore, we have a number of construction site compounds dotted around the Stepping Hill site at present which may also cause some parking issues.     Posted appointment was late and feedback negative but turned out very positive. Appreciated the thorough checks and mostly thankful for being recommended to investigate my sleep apnea. Many thanks to the whole staff at magnolia suite.

    I had a gastroscopy and had been worried sick about it, I needn’t have been. Opted for the sedation, the throat spray was absolutely fine, the team who cared for me were brilliant, the whole procedure was painless, a little bit uncomfortable but over very quickly. If I need another, I know that I need not worry again. Thanks to the endoscopy team.

    I had to attend a follow up in outpatients A suite 1 for a fracture follow up and upon entering I was greeted by a bright smiling welcoming nurse who made me completely at ease. She was incredibly pleasant. I was then seen by the consultant and was greeted with a very courteous handshake and politely asked a few questions. He then asked me to undergo further X-rays. Admittedly the X-ray department was extremely busy and the wait was rather long. I was then asked to return to suite 1 and again welcomed by by the same lovely nurse. Another wait and then seen again by the consultant who explained the outcome of my injury and fully informed of expected recovery time etc. He then explained I would be seen by the physiotherapist. I saw him within a few minutes and was given a thorough evaluation of the injury and he examined me and talked through recovery plan, exercises and physio treatment which would commence in 2 weeks. His manner and explanations were extremely professional and helpful. I then left the department after receiving a great big hug from the original nurse who first greeted me. Although I was in the hospital for a considerable time, I felt I received first class treatment, full care and attention throughout. Thank you all so much.

    I was in the Marjory Warren Unit for a whole day for blood tests for endocrinology. I found all the staff to be courteous, kind, knowledgeable and efficient. Special thanks to Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist Joanne.

  6. Review titled Endocrine Investigation unit

    I have been taking prednisolone for some 14 years and this is the first time that I have heard of 'adrenal crisis', endocrine investigation unit, endocrine nurse, injection emergency kit etc. Should I have been aware about these situations earlier? I would like to know more about steroids. The endocrine nurse was great - very informative in a way a "lay" person can understand. Plenty of time for discussion + explanation - no rush - very easy to talk to. Very grateful to be made aware and hope not have to use injection. Very glad to have attended the meeting. Thank you

    Appointment was running late 40 mins when advised the receptionist but no explanation given and just ask to wait. Having explained that i have finished a full 12 hrs night shift and would have appreciated of no further delays. The rest of the patients were seen pretty much on time apart from me.

    My thanks to the staff at A&E who saw me following a clumsy accident at home. I was in, triaged, stitched up and discharged in no more than 40 minutes. All the staff I saw were great and the treatment was first class.

    My father was referred to A&E from his GP . He was seen quickly. Always spoken to with respect - each individual Introduced themselves. Was allocated a bed on a ward within hours. Thank you

    I visited the urology dept with my father who was undergoing a procedure. Although we had to wait for a considerably long time for our ambulance home, the staff were incredible, making cups of tea, and bringing my father a sandwich. The receptionist even came back from her lunch break early to attend to us. Thank you so much, it was really appreciated.
