Had cataract removal surgery on 06/01/23 and othe service was absolutely brilliant. The nurse explained everything that was going to happen in theatre, was with me all through the treatment and then invited my wife to join me to explain the aftercare. I would give you 11 out of 10 if it were possible. Thank you

Staff were extremely friendly. I cant thank the receptionist enough for how friendly and quickly she arranged for the doctor to see my two week old baby after a mess about with another hospital left us not knowing what to do. Also I m so grateful for how much she calmed my nerves after traveling from Newcastle with a poorly newborn by simply telling me I was doing great with my daughter, when youre with a poorly child its the worst feeling in the world but she made me feel so much better about the whole experience. Also I need to thank the doctor that saw my daughter for how gentle and patient he was with my daughter and for him being so understanding of the situation. Honestly one of the best practices I have been to, after the nightmare I had elsewhere during the before it was amazing to actually be somewhere that listened and felt like they wanted to help my baby. The wait was so quick as people were straight in and out, the practice was spotless with all the staff well presented aswell. I can not fault the place.

I damaged my eye while gardening on Sunday, had an emergency triage appointment with my opticians at noon who referred me to Eye Infirmary. So by 4pm I was being seen by accident and emergency dept. Fast, efficient and effective treatment by highly professional staff. Home by 6pm. Thank you all so much.

The level of care and assistance given by all the staff is exemplary. I felt they genuinely cared about my experience and they allayed fears about procedures by carefully explaining what they were going to do. This is the gold standard which other areas of the NHS should aspire too. Thank you!

Visited Sunderland eye hospital on 6/09/2022 with eye pain. The lady nurse who saw me before eye doctor was really professional and advised me of next steps of my treatment . The eye doctor I saw next checked my eyes and removed a foreign object from my eye and cleaned it up and advised on after care. I Just want to say thankyou again.

My husband attended on 5th September for a review of a problem he has had for almost 2 years. His consultant was brilliant and had him in for surgery 4 days later. Extremely Fanta service and a massive thank you to Howell. He's an absolute credit to your trust and is incredible with patients and a lovely man.

Booked in with triage the night before and when I got to hospital the following day in time for my appointment the receptionist in outpatients B didn’t even listen to what I have to say. Only it will be A&E and when i then said I have been in a&e for 30 minutes and there is no receptionist and when you go to speak with staff they just say you have to wait. I understand the nhs is under so much pressure but it’s not helping when staff in the nhs just push it off and don’t want to put the patient first .

I had cataract surgery which was painless, swift and completely successful. The nursing and surgical staff were empathetic, patient, caring and utterly professional. I was told, in detail what would happen and given excellent after care advice. Looking forward to having the other eye done now!
